I don't see why it's such a bad thing. Does it bother you because you can't openly be a racist or homophobic or sexist? The only people I see complaining about "PC culture" are people who would be criticized for those things.
Being aware of how your words and actions might affect others is a characteristic of compassion and intelligence.

16 RepliesIsn't it obvious? Self-censorship to be 'nice' or 'appropriate' isn't conducive to a progressive society, contrary to popular belief. Obviously being polite and reasonable are still valid, it's the reasoning behind actions that is questioned.

1 ReplyI'll tell you what else is wrong with political correctness. Telling a morbidly obese person that they're fine when realistically and medically that's just not true. If a person wants to be fat, then fine that's their choice but don't go trying to change societies' view on beauty because no guy wants a 400 pound chick crushing their dick with their rolls of fat. That woman will remain single for a long time until she decides to lose weight.

R U PC BRO!!?

We need PC principal

Well we can be openly racist. It would be free speech. Anyway. Most of the "PC" movement seems to be more about silencing anyone they don't agree with. Thought crime ya know.
-
It creates social censorship based off the feelings of other people.

Why would I wanna look compassionate or intelligent to people I couldn't care less about?

9 RepliesEdited by savage coco: 1/11/2016 7:38:29 AMPeople are becoming to sensitive and want everyone to focus their lives around their sensitive feelings. That's not how the world works, I will always say what I want and if that hurts someone, I won't care & I'll continue on with my day

5 RepliesBeciase I don't think being called black is offensive. Because I don't want to call people with mental retardation special one week, and the call them differently able another. Because I don't want to dance around the fact that someone in a wheel chair is in a wheel chair. Because just like all Europeans and Africans, all Asians really do look alike. (You can't tell the difference between a Russian and a British guy. You can't tell the difference between a Chinese and a Japanese guy) Because sometimes racist and sexist jokes are funny. Because I don't want to raise a generation of people look forward to be offended. Because I don't want to raise a generation that thinks being a victim make a them specail. Because I don't want to raise a generation that handle reality. Remember, no one cares about your feelings when you're a grown man. Maybe that's why the suicide rate is going up, because people are aware that once you turn 18 and leave your family and school, no one cares about your feelings beciase you're a grown ass adult, not a pansy who cries on tumblr about culture appropriation and rápe culture.

There is nothing wrong with being politically correct, but some (most often on the Liberal side) use it to silence opposing opinions. One example is calling someone an Islamaphobe who criticizes the doctrine of Islam. Unfortunately this is where the Liberals lose me.

1 ReplyIn the 70's gays marched to be left ALONE. To do what they wanted wherever. To be able to walk into a store and not get kicked out. Today big babies are concerned with what you think of them. You shop in the same store I shop in, fine. You walk along side me in the isles, that's cool. You ask me, a stranger, what I think of you... Now you're asking for problems. Political correctness is allowing people to go about their business as long as it doesn't harm anyone else but if you want to do something different, you have that right, what ever floats your boat but don't ask for an opinion and judge people for having one.

1 ReplyEdited by mulldoe: 1/12/2016 12:55:57 PMIt produces a society full of whiny, easily offended, self righteous people. Anyone who gets offended by the words of others and people who don't say what the think or feel because it might offend someone need to harden up.

4 Replies1940s: 18+ year olds join the Marines and fight the Japanese, plunging in to almost certain death. 2015/16: 18+ year olds need safe spaces in colleges. This is what political correctness has done.

33 RepliesEdited by cxkxr: 1/12/2016 9:09:05 AM"Politically correct" = disagree with libtard; lose your job. facts contradict libtard narrative; bigot. One totally absurd side effect of PC culture, is the irony of feminists, calling people racist for being alarmed of the mass rápe epidemic going on in Europe by muslim refugees. Let me say that again; Feminists, who cry "muh rápe culture!" for looking at them too long, complimenting them, or sitting on a train comfortably, are calling people racist for actually being concerned about real rápes going on... Because the perpetrators are mooslums(bare in mind islam is not a race either).. Black lives don't matter if their lives are ended by other blacks, and women being ráped don't matter if it's by the hands of a brown person who yells "allah akbar!". It's a mental disorder.
