Mida is more popular and more annoying than Thorn ever was
Before you read this: [i]YES[/i], I AM A YEAR ONE PLAYER.
I've never seen full teams of randoms with thorn as consistently as I see the same with Mida. Mida killing me isn't what's annoying, it's just the fact that everyone uses it and it forces everyone in the crucible to conform to one playstyle. There is absolutely zero diversity in the crucible. Don't go spouting off a ten paragraph essay about how Mida is balanced, because I agree. We just need autos to be actually buffed, pulses to be nerfed properly (how they were going to be nerfed before bungie lied to us), and handcannons and scouts to stay the same.
Edit: Damn, so much hate. Never intended to make anybody angry, but if you are, you probably only read the title and in a blind rage, posted your wittiest insult and left. Comment "Latias" if you read the whole thing so I can decide whether or not to ignore you.
Edit: The wording is bad for the part about pulses, I want them buffed up to the original state before bungie nerfed them, and bring them down to what bungie [i]said[/i] they were going to do before they lied

I can out shoot mida with a couple different scouts especially anything with full auto but with the thorn you either had to use it or the last word and there was nothing worse than getting team shot with thorn managing to kill them because of how fast tlw shot and then thorn burn kills you a second later

I have no problem with people running Mida, cuz I'll out gun them almost every time.

310 drop last night to replace the Christmas one I infused up to 295 with blues. I was underwhelmed with it in iron banner to be honest and wasn't even the top scout I was using towards the end.

Mida has always been this good, it is just that now without their hand cannons or pulse rifles the meta followers have migrated to a new weapon to abuse.

Not even close, MIDA is absolutely fantastic but because it's TTK is around .9 seconds it's not nearly as bad as anything used to be and can totally be out gunned.

Thorn was way worse. You couldn't even counter it when someone got 2 heads you were dead from poison. MIDA isn't op and is not hard to counter. Also I have never seen a whole fireteam have them

You do realize why the over bearing difference in mass quantities is because Mida was sold buy Xur while the Thorn bounty was tough for some. And the Thorn was much worse when people were using the final round glitch

1 ReplyI have to agree with you, thorn and tlw era was never this bad, yes handcannons dominanted, only matches i see in is mida and a sniper or tlw and a sniper maybe the odd pulse can be thrown in there! Not taking anything away from other players using other weapons but tgis is what i see the majority of the time

2 RepliesYou never seen full teams with Thorns because it was harder to get than other exotics. There was no drop chance, no decoding from engram. You had to get lucky enough to get it from one of two sets of exotic bounties, and then had to complete the quest. I think the PVP part gave many difficulty and/or dissuaded them from even trying.

I think Thorn would always be consider one of the worst metas. It's the DOT that has given so many people traumatic disorders over.

Edited by CozmicClockwork: 1/10/2016 2:48:58 PMThere is actually a long story to explain but during the thorn era in house of wolves there was a small community that loved the mida due to the streangth yet balence of the weapon, I know because I was a part of it. When TTK launched the thorn users where out of a go to strong exotic weapon and mida fans had to leave behind mida for some time as well. But when bungie announced mida's return in year 2 the mida fans rejoyced and the people who only use the strongest weapons would ask why before finding out that mida is a really strong weapon. And for those people, they probably didn't hear the words "but its balenced" come out of the mida fan's mouths. Eventually most of the thorn users start adopting mida until practically everyone is using it. FYI: Mida never got any special buff that wasnt a universal scout rifle change and has been in a virtually unchanged state since the thorn era. TL;DR- Mida fans told thorn users how good the Mida multi tool was when the gun was brought into year two and they all started to use it. LATIAS
