I would like to discus stormtrance. Why nerf it?

Just looking to get the opinions of those who want the stormcaller nerfed, then add my personal counterargument. IMO I think it to be balanced Discuss

  • It's not that Stormtrance is overpowered. It's the fact that Bungie harshly nerfed Sunbreakers/Bladedancers and reduced variety.

          • No need to nerf it. Whenever I rage about warlocks, it's usually about flameshield. No more class nerfs plz. They should buff Bladedancer, Sunbreaker and Voidwalker.

            • Never played trials before decided to on my warlock for s.hits and giggles ended up going flawless, i dont want to see a nerf just maybe tweak it a little? I dont use the warlock enough to make a valid point on a nerf/buff.

            • I play all classes and Warlock is my main. It is the easiest super to get a lot of kills with. An average mindless super usually gets 2 maybe 3 kills max. Stormcaller's probably average about 1 higher. It really lasts way to long. Especially considering how easy it is to use. This is only considering casual average players. Of course other supers shine in the hands of skilled players.

              • Only thing I think is land fall maybe is more about distance such as <1m install kill 1 <2 shield goes down 2 <5 half shield goes down

              • I play warlock almost exclusively and I think the subclass is a bit strong. Landfall Shouldn't kill anybody. It's unfair to have a subclass with the ability to last so long shouldn't get a free kill right off the bat. Remove the ability to kill and have it strictly blind, but increase the blast radius to compensate. In terms of duration, just chop 3 seconds off transcendence. Easy fix. It's flat out too long. Other than that, the range and armor of the super is fair. Up close you won't win against it, plain and simple. It's a close range super, normal gunplay isn't supposed to beat it in its intended range. The super has the longest to ttk out of all the supers, but can damage multiple targets at once to compensate. All in all, lower the time slightly and remove the kill ability on landfall and you've got a fair and well balanced super.

                      It doesn't need a nerf. The only ones complaining about it are the Titardins who are jelly because Sunbreaker got nerfed.

                          Let me just tell you what Stormtrance is intended for: 2 words. Are you ready? [spoiler]CROWD CONTROL[/spoiler] Do you understand that? Do you have a Warlock? Do you run PvE and UNDERSTAND how it is intended to be used? Try killing a group of high health majors and tell me if it's efficacy is not justified. I'll wait.

                            • It lasts too long with transcendence. Needing to have both a melee and grenade is not a sacrifice. I spec for full discipline and intellect. And I [b]still[/b] always have a melee ready when I have my super. And I don't hoard my grenades either. I get one every 30 seconds and I use it nearly as often. It lasts too long. When I play as a stormcaller, I often kill the same person more than once along with getting other kills with it as well. Especially on game modes like rift where the spawns cannot flip and are locked. I spawn kill constantly. It's how I got my 7th column medal.

                            • My only complaint is that they don't have to aim their super.. I can be a mile high over top of the Stormcaller and get killed without them looking up..

                              • I think the destiny lag makes us want to nerf Storm Caller. I.e. A Storm Caller was about to round the corner so, I throw a lightning grenade at the wall in front of me. My hunter friend throws an incendiary grenade. Both grenades make solid contact. I hot swap and land my plan c and my buddy popped 4 shots of his scout. The storm caller only lost half of his health. Thereby running the both of us over.
