What do you think? I personally think it's a bit lame that you can be killed when you aren't able to control your character. IMO that is the opponents fault for allowing the person to revive the fallen player in the first place.
Edit: this isn't about the act of reviving or specifically about sniping. This is about being able to die without having control of your character.
Edit: a lot of great responses on both sides of the argument.
Edit: I see a lot of people makin assumption about how the player died or the scenario in which they are being revived. In the question I posed the way they died is irrelevant and how or where they are revived are irrelevant as well. For all you know they may have died in an epic gun fight. And for all you know there may have been nobody around when the revive happened but as soon as the revive happens someone pops out and one shots them and they have no way to dodge or counter. People keep talking about rewarding the player that died but there is no reward their is a cumulative timer and there team has to get the revive.
Edit: a lot of people saying the poll is biased but nobody can seem to mention how it's biased.

by far the easiest ways to make revives more important in trials without anyone becoming butt hurt or unskilled about it 1) increase revive time just a bit more but after every revive do not increase wait time before revive it should always be 5 seconds till revive is available 2) make exotic equipment that increase revive speed a bit faster and grant an over shield to the player if revive is successful otherwise no revive shield to increase need for them in trials 3) after revive have player re spawn at initial spawn area behind cover to avoid hard camping of spawns while granting brief immunity player getting revive gets no revive shield unless wearing exotic revive armor i think these are some things we can agree are pretty good middle grounds for everyone....

1 ReplyIt's kinda stupid the only reason revive killing exists is because of the revive animation . You should be immune until you are able to move
-
17 RepliesRevive should be a risk thing, if u -blam!- up and die it shouldn't be an advantage
-
4 RepliesOK GUYS THERES NO NEED TO READ THE SALTY COMMENTS I RESUMED IT . 1.YOU SHOULD PUSH YOUR TEAMATES WHEN YOU REVIVE HEM 2.op k/d is bad ,sorry op ;-;
-
1 ReplyIf there should be revive killing people, make it to where they can die by rocket's and low impact snipers and not just high impact snipers. You have no idea how annoying people getting revived and both not dieing by a rocket but sure as hell they die by high impact sniper.
-
11 RepliesYou have 504,000 medal score with a .50 kd with a 27.00 win ratio and an Elo that is rusted your top 64% in trials. That is all horrible I can now see why your complaining because you suck ass.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Petracore: 1/8/2016 4:27:28 AMPersonally, my idea is this: 1. Reviver gets no overshield 2. The revived gets immunity for .5 seconds after the animation (just enough so that with quick reflexes they can not die instantaneously from a sniper but not have enough time to use it as an advantage in a firefight) This way, a sniper can still get the reviver, but cannot simply kill the revived player immediately after respawn.
-
I feel like once the revive animation is done you can be killed (When your body is reappearing and you can't move at all) cuz you are in fact defenseless and it's sorta stupid that you can just die before the game even allows you to draw your weapon... just my opinion
-
4 RepliesYou should be defenseless. It's your punishment for dying in the first place. I think the overshield is fine, but the Period of invincibility is not ok.
-
Edited by LordofChaos: 1/8/2016 5:09:57 AMYou should not be able to kill someone when they are not able to move or defend themselves. Those that do so or think it is ok are just those looking for simple noskill easy cheap kills.

2 RepliesIs it frustrating as hell? Definitely! But ToO is the only time it matters and it forces you to play more tactically. You should probably avoid dying in a sniper lane in the first place. Also, your teammate shouldn't be rezing you if you're going to get spawn sniped. Sneaky revives are an art form. Don't panic revive, you have counters. Jump in front of the shot and take a hit on the body. Or, retreat, and create some space. Or maybe stop being a coward and take out your gun and put some shots from cover on the sniper that is hardscoping your teammate's orb and probably isn't good enough to drag shoot you.
-
2 RepliesYou are only defenseless if your teammate revives you in the open with an enemy watching. Here's an idea, your teammate could shoot at the enemy who is watching your orb. Try might even get a kill like the other team did!

My issue is more with the animations that occur when popping a super. I know it looks cool when I come up as a sunsinger or hold my golden gun up like a badass, but that little window of no control over my body gets me killed more than I'd care to admit
-
4 RepliesIt's called tactical gameplay. I know this is a hard concept judging by these forums. Res only when able, push while res, or while team mates res jump in front of shot. A hunter is great for res throw down smoke and get res. My standard" try hard" team is me running hos or striker, my two partners self res warlock and shadow hunter.
-
2 RepliesIt's a factor you have to think about. Lol does everyone want to make destiny a E rated game so we can just breeze past it?
-
10 RepliesLike, why the f should you be rewarded with an overshiels for dying. Oh, and getting res killed is just the game penalizing you for dying....and giving your team two overshields
-
2 RepliesThere's ways to counter it, tough shit
-
The person who revives should not get an overshield
-
1 ReplyDefenseless my ass. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten 3-4 "Immune" shots off while they're still move around and blowing heads off with a shotgun while immortal.
-
4 RepliesIf you get killed off the revive your teammate shouldn't have revived you, Plain and simple, dot make dumb plays
-
5 RepliesIf your teammate revives you into a sniper round, they should get your death attributed to their stats.
-
I should be able to fist of havoc them. That is all.
-
Personally I want them to drop the the overshield strength, but shorten the rez snipe window so that sniper rifles besides the 1000 yard impact profile can rez snipe but make it become more difficult to do so to account for that.
-
1 ReplySecond time back but this topic kills me (rim shot)!!! So I'm not a great crucible player, but I can stay positive in k/d and do well with fire teams. For as much as you babies cry about being punished for dying in open areas I really hope the take revives out of Trials. 3v3 to the -blam!-ing death.
-
2 RepliesWell if it's that much of a concern I would just take revives out of trials and elimination and such
-
4 RepliesI propose a longer revive timer (15-30sec). However, grant a longer invincibility shield with a much weaker over shield.
