Shotgun use during Raids?
Can anyone think of a situation in which the use of shotguns in any of the raids is considered ideal? Honestly, it seems that gun selection in the raids have been narrowed into the quartet of scout rifle, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and the occasional hand cannon or auto rifle.

The Sword Breaker chews through praetorians at the beginning of VoG. My invective turned the Deathsingers into moosh in Crota. I always taught the Fallen Captains my Secret Handshake in PoE (not a raid, but still end game). Get in close, and turn your enemies into abstract wall art.

2 RepliesClearing majors. I run shotgun every raid. If i need to shoot from range ill run hung jury. I use hmg on bosses so i dont need a sniper. Best example of use currently is rhe war priest section of kf. Drops the hallowed and taken nicely. Useful at totems for the knights that come down from the middle. In VoG i used to swear by my void Judgement. 2 shots on the axis minos/praetorians. If u run oracles without snipers then it was good 2. A decent range shotgun during the atheon fight cane in handy against supplicants for 1 shot kills before they had chance to explode. Not too many uses for me in CE, but if u were in the deathsinger room they they shaved valuable seconds off the ttk. Im not saying theyre the best choice for any specific job, but theyre good all rounders and it never hurts to have 1 or 2 in ur fireteam run shotgun.

It's like asking for spindle or ToM.. Do you need them.....

If your runner for oryx you can use a shotgun instead of raze lighter which takes up an exotic slot where you can be using tom or spindle. I had the set up of tom raid shotty and raid lmg. Shotguns are great for taking out vessel

Swordbreaker was clutch in VoG at the Templar and while opening the time gates for minotaurs. Also, I prefer a LMG for kings fall

I run a shotgun at some points in VOG when there are a lot of minotaurs. They have no crit spots so a sniper isn't as useful. It's never necessary but sometimes you want to take a different approach to an encounter.

Shotguns are extremely helpful in VoG which largely focused on throwing a large amount of ads at you at once. Snipers are boss recommended. And because KF has more bosses than trash mobs (in fact barely any trash mobs in comparison to previous end game pve's), u can use your primary to clear ads and snipers always on for bosses cause there's literally a boss every other room.

Shotgun is good for the vault up to Templar. It is good in crota in the lamp section. And it can be used for the first part of kings fall. Other than those parts it will be more hindrance than helpful.

I only use them in the King's Fall raid against the phalanxes at the start of the raid. I do recall about 3 months ago a couple of weeks after the raid was released having a friend use the Invective against Golgoroth since he didn't have a decent sniper. He claims it had great DPS

2 RepliesShotgun is really good if you are the relic runner on oryx. Drop down and shotgun the knight after you steal the aura. But, that's about it.

KF - opening scene only VoG - pretty much whole raid until gatekeeper CE - the whole raid a shotgun won't hurt

At the opening on KF when running dual relics, I use my shotgun to bust the glass open for my side.

In KF, we have a guy killing adds on Golgoroth woth shotgun, works pretty well there.

Oracles in vog, abyss run for Crota, pretty much anywhere in POE, and the beginning part for kings fall. That's where shotguns in raids work.

No. Unless you are soloing crota, at crota for the swordbearer, or vog at the oracles.

In relics! The phalanx and centurions are easy to handle with shotguns. I mean they're easy to handle anyway, but it makes it a lot easier.
