Wives and destiny...

I could seriously be cutting myself in the corner and my wife wouldn't care, but the second that I walk towards the Xbox to turn it on, its always,"Are you seriously going to play Xbox right now?" Anyone else's wife always feel slighted when the games go on? Edit: Just to clarify, I love my wife and she definitely comes before video games. I just think it's a little ridiculous how she couldn't care less about what I am doing until the Xbox/ps4 comes on.
but then again, she is 6 months pregnant with our second child, so reason has left the marriage equation and isn't expected to return for around 3 months...
• My wife has 3 Level 40 characters, one of each class. She's over Destiny now, but she's a gaming nerd.

  • Been there, still there. Yeah. I can go without playing 1 week straight, but the moment I need 2 strange coins to buy a MIDA for xmas and She goes totally ballistic. Iron Banner? I wish. Raid ? LOL! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good one Getting a fireteam for a public event like court of oryx? Lctl10 has disconnected as soon as you arrive at the court. In a way, I should be thankful, as she's the reason I keep coming back to Destiny, since I CAN'T DO JACK SHI"#"" IN PROPER TIME

  • That's not true, I play this game and I play with my husband we enjoy it, I also play alot of other games as well, I do not understand why some women have a problem with it, my kids got me into gaming, there are times when I will be at a family gathering and I can't wait to get home to play on my xbox one. I think these women who have a problem with it are mad that they are not getting all the attention, they have their priorities in the wrong place, to me it's important that people are allowed to do what makes them happy in their free time, sure we all have responsibilities we need to do around our homes, but come on fun is fun

    • As a man who is married, I will say, if she wants it off turn it off. There is no greater frustration and sorrow you will ever experience than a divorcing. I know, I've been divorced once and it was EXTREMELY tough. In some ways it was harder than when my dad was killed. A game isn't worth your marriage and its not worth making your wife unhappy. Instead, as hard as it may be to do, find something y'all can both do and enjoy together.

      • I feel your frustration man. Generally speaking it's a pretty hard balance to find; majority of wives (or perhaps non-gaming husbands?) do not like to sit there whilst husband bashes computer game. I very rarely, if ever, play when my wife is chilling in the living room, not least because it's unsociable. If I really want to do a raid one night at a normal hour, i'll book it in. I usually find time to play for an hour or two (or till very late at the weekends if I'm keen) in the evenings when my wife (8 months pregnant) has gone to bed. I'm not a hardcore player but this feels like a fair bit of game time, so i'm happy. If i played any more I think i'd feel like I'd turned into a fat hermit oblivious to my family and what else goes on in the world :-)

      • I got my wife into playing that helped, she was addicted at first lol , I have to get her back into it , she still plays every so often though. It makes it much easier when she is enjoying it with you.

              • She just needs to know her and the children are your number one priority. Don't tell her, show her. Example: don't play the game until she and the kids are asleep, but eve then, don't stay up past 12am.

                  • My wife was like this when I was playing all day and night while I was on disability. But as soon as I went to bed at a decent hour and kept it quiet when she was in bed she has been a lot better about me playing.

                      • It's a jealousy thing. It's something competing for your attention and you enjoy it and have a laugh. My Mrs. Went mental during the start of y1 as I was a bit ... Shall we say obsessed with dailies and weeklies (gotta catch em all mentality). So we have a compromised agreement.. I go on when she lets me :) j/k I play less now but still get to play a fair bit and get my clan on!!!
