MIDA needs a 34% nerf
The TTK of the mida multi tool is exactly the same as pre nerf vex. This is why so many people are using it now. It's insanely overpowered. In order to fix the vex, Bungie nerfed it by 34% and it became balanced. With that being said, the MIDA multi tool needs a 34% nerf and won't be balanced until then.

What you're seeing is a popularity trend that doesnt necessarily correlate with performance. The same thing applies to 1000-yard stare, it's popular because it's handed out to everyone who plays TTK. In terms of performance it's a mid tier weapon. Also, looking at your weapons of choice in Crucible it's easy to understand why you have issues with Mida. By simply equipping Mida the player is programmed to maintain space. You on the other hand seem to favor HC's and shotties, which operate in a different range span, making it harder for you to perform.
