I wouldn't say that you were the reasons America exists today. In reality it's was a combination of efforts from the first true Americans to the revolutionary. Then to the Irish. When the Irish migrated to either America or England during the famine most would chose America. Spending 6 months on a boat of sickness and despair we still had hope. That hope was America. A land of prosperity and peace where a working man could make his dreams come true. And for most Irish people it did. We also built railways through out America so they could build more settlements. We started in Boston and made our way across the u.s [spoiler]but to be honest all England did was occupie and the lives of the American population a hell on earth. No wonder your now only confined to a small island in the middle of the north atlantic ocean beimg battered and destroyed by storm desmond [/spoiler]
