Not a fan of the New Crucible Meta
After playing for the last few days, it seems that 1000 Yard Stare with TLW/MIDA are the most popular weapons in the new meta. And this makes the game feel more passive ... almost boring. Basically, snipers hard-scoping traffic lanes, then cleaning up kills with a quick switch to the Mida/TLW. I honestly preferred the blink/shotgun meta to this. At least that was fun.
Just to clarify, I am[b] [i]not[/i] [/b]calling for a nerf. The MIDA is one of the most balanced guns in the game and rewards accurate players. It is probably my favourite weapon. It just kinda sucks when everyone uses the same weapons.
[b]Edit 1:[/b] Thanks for all the comments. Fun stuff. And to those calling me a hypocrite for using the MIDA and 1000 yard stare, well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. [spoiler]Actually, I've used MIDA practically since launch and I'm peeved that everyone else is using her now. [/spoiler]
[b]Edit 2: [/b] Okay, so [i]The Party Crasher +1[/i] is a good shotgun. Had a lot of fun with it today. Works well with old blink shotgun style, but you should play a little more carefully, and get in as close as possible for the kill. Also the [i]Havoc Pigeon[/i] is a great sidearm if you know how to use it well.
[b]Edit 3: [/b] I think people should just trying playing with other weapons for fun. Always seem to end up in sweaty matches.

2 RepliesThere's not much else to do right now. I agree in that I just don't like this new meta very much. I wish pulse rifles range didn't get hit so hard. You aren't in too bad of a spot if you have a high range pulse, but if that range stat is low, forget about using that shit. Because you can't actually get killed in its intended range category when going up against scout rifles. Just doesn't work. But the thing that upsets me the most is how hard they hit fusion rifles. As far as I read they weren't supposed to get nerfed, but they did. They don't have the range that they used to, & they definitely don't have the stability. They absolutely ruined stability. ADS along w. Hip fire...& ADS was supposed to be increased. It's such a shame that my favorite special just can't really be competitive compared to the others now. It's lacking OHK potential big time.

5 RepliesHi Lord Yesua, Can you tell me a crucible era that didnt have a weapon or weapon type that seemed to dominate. The vanilla crucible was Vex and Surors Regime, then along came Thorn/Shotgun, Then came pulse rifles...Crucible has always been dominated by one or two weapon types.

Bump. Pvp is boring and stale. Buff shotguns to pre 2.1 state and bring back the good old dark below fusion rifle stats. That would be some -blam!-ing variety

Not really... Just a ton of 1k stares, stillpiercers, people who suck with MIDA and tons of people attempting to use scout rifles or auto rifles.

Haven't experienced this at all. At least not in regular crucible, where shotguns still appear most prevalent. Maybe you're speaking about trials specifically?

Its a use whatever you want meta, there is no 1 gun to use... try a different weapon, youll be just as successful with practice
