Not a fan of the New Crucible Meta
After playing for the last few days, it seems that 1000 Yard Stare with TLW/MIDA are the most popular weapons in the new meta. And this makes the game feel more passive ... almost boring. Basically, snipers hard-scoping traffic lanes, then cleaning up kills with a quick switch to the Mida/TLW. I honestly preferred the blink/shotgun meta to this. At least that was fun.
Just to clarify, I am[b] [i]not[/i] [/b]calling for a nerf. The MIDA is one of the most balanced guns in the game and rewards accurate players. It is probably my favourite weapon. It just kinda sucks when everyone uses the same weapons.
[b]Edit 1:[/b] Thanks for all the comments. Fun stuff. And to those calling me a hypocrite for using the MIDA and 1000 yard stare, well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. [spoiler]Actually, I've used MIDA practically since launch and I'm peeved that everyone else is using her now. [/spoiler]
[b]Edit 2: [/b] Okay, so [i]The Party Crasher +1[/i] is a good shotgun. Had a lot of fun with it today. Works well with old blink shotgun style, but you should play a little more carefully, and get in as close as possible for the kill. Also the [i]Havoc Pigeon[/i] is a great sidearm if you know how to use it well.
[b]Edit 3: [/b] I think people should just trying playing with other weapons for fun. Always seem to end up in sweaty matches.

Edited by beedel: 12/21/2015 7:36:36 PMI just use what ever nowadays. I find it doesn't really matter. I use a scout on larger maps, and an auto rifle or hand cannon on the smaller ones. I rarely use my special weapons unless it's to finish a bounty.

See I just stated a warlock and been playing crucible, haven't used tlw, or mida. I occasionally use a sniper but I like pulse rifles the best. It's all about what you feel you're good at, or what you feel you would be good at. No one plays this game to lose, so trying to find the best weapons to use is what everyone is doing.

4 RepliesIv used mida since I first had it as well. But I don't understand why the fact a lot of others now use it should annoy you. It's a very balanced weapon and you actually need to be skilled to use it. So what if more and more people use it now, I am relaxed as a lot of them won't be any good with it.

4 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 12/21/2015 2:47:57 AMAt least Shotgunners had to get in your face to kill you making the game fast paced..Now it's just slow and boring until someone decides to rush you with The Last Word; and at that point if you're not using The Last Word or a Shotgun you lose since it has the fastest TTK of the Primary Weapons. Fuuuunn; diversity is at an all time high!

it's whatever to me. I adjust and grow as a player, when hunters did nothing but blink shot gun i learned to counter on a titan! When hand cannons ruled the game i played with them and used pulse rifles and scouts. Just learn how to engage people and practices even if it means running drills that test your skills as you go.

1 ReplyNlb, hawksaw still and trials auto rifle, 1000 yard or party crasher. I switch it up to stay fresh and also switch game types. Mida is the only thing that annoys the shit out of me but it's so beautiful.

I like auto rifles now. Got an ARI-41 with good rolls and get K/D 1.5 to 2 most of the time. Suits me fine :)

My level is higher than its ever been, why do I feel like I'm armed with a floppy water noodle and cardboard armor? Also the pace of the crucible is so slow now... I loved sniping when I had to move constantly, play aggressive, and have to run and gun... now I just spend half a match in the same spot because the first person to move looses. It's like a game of red light green light at a sleep clinic for narcoleptics

7 RepliesOnly thing I was playing destiny for was pvp. Pre patch load out was red death and the conspiracy theory d. Was averaging a kd of around 3 now post patch those guns are useless , never been good with a sniper or scout rifle in pvp. Have tried using auto rifles but they suck . Really disappointed in this. Won't be on destiny for a while now

2 RepliesIt's awful. The prior gunplay from patch 2.0 was nice because players used different kinds of Pulse Rifles (Hawksaw, Grasp, Bad Juju, Red Death, NTTE, The Villainy, Spare Change, etc). Now, I see two primary weapons: MIDA and TLW. No other Scout or Hand Cannon is faster than these two.

The only thing that frustrates me is that they nerfed shotguns so much that now everyone is forced to use snipers. Nothing about mida has changed its not op at all and probably the only primary weapon that can counter snipers right now. I also dont mind the last word i was kind of sad when they made it useless since it was the best counter for shotguns.
