Not a fan of the New Crucible Meta
After playing for the last few days, it seems that 1000 Yard Stare with TLW/MIDA are the most popular weapons in the new meta. And this makes the game feel more passive ... almost boring. Basically, snipers hard-scoping traffic lanes, then cleaning up kills with a quick switch to the Mida/TLW. I honestly preferred the blink/shotgun meta to this. At least that was fun.
Just to clarify, I am[b] [i]not[/i] [/b]calling for a nerf. The MIDA is one of the most balanced guns in the game and rewards accurate players. It is probably my favourite weapon. It just kinda sucks when everyone uses the same weapons.
[b]Edit 1:[/b] Thanks for all the comments. Fun stuff. And to those calling me a hypocrite for using the MIDA and 1000 yard stare, well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. [spoiler]Actually, I've used MIDA practically since launch and I'm peeved that everyone else is using her now. [/spoiler]
[b]Edit 2: [/b] Okay, so [i]The Party Crasher +1[/i] is a good shotgun. Had a lot of fun with it today. Works well with old blink shotgun style, but you should play a little more carefully, and get in as close as possible for the kill. Also the [i]Havoc Pigeon[/i] is a great sidearm if you know how to use it well.
[b]Edit 3: [/b] I think people should just trying playing with other weapons for fun. Always seem to end up in sweaty matches.

2 RepliesMIDA was balanced in year 2 but the aim assist on it is way too high plus it has hidden hand as a secret perk making it have almost 3x more aim assist than yr 1 MIDA . I think the best bet is to nerf it's aim assist and lower its magazine to like 13-17. People may not think its a big deal bout the gun should be called Need a Multi kill based on its impact rate of fire and magazine all put together

2 RepliesI know, with the commodity of snipers in the crucible they have finally became a problem. It isn't that they are good but really that they are being over used, just like shotguns.

Everyone using the same weapons is the only way it can be balanced. I feel like this game is about using what you want. Do you want to handicap yourself and kill it or use power weapons and kill it more.

3 RepliesThe way to fix it is to punish people for hard scoping with snipers. Believe it or not TLW is as balanced as mida is. Its' range is in a good place and the perk to increase precision damage works when it is meant to. Trials this week was dominated by people rushing with shotguns and hardscoping with snipers so maybe shotguns need to be more punishing when carried, like maybe make them handle slower out of sprint but keep them the same over all. Only conspiracy theory really felt like its' range was still stupid. I used the trials shotgun and it only really worked when coupled with a melee attack from blink strike which felt good.

1 ReplyI'm just glad Thorn feels viable again, because the pulse rifle meta was the most annoying meta to date. My playstyle is too aggressively lassez faire for sniping.. I like just running/blinking around a map, trying to befriend everyone with a HIGH 5. The worst map at the moment is Pantheon. There's always 2+ people chilling on the opposite side of B hardscoping & hoping, so obnoxious.

5 RepliesThe only reason om not a fan of todays meta is because of the inconsistencies. I would greatly appreciate the last word to kinda die down though... kinda tired of seeing that gun...already saw it too much in year one with thorn...

5 RepliesThe 1000 yard isn't anything special. Longbow, LDR, and other snipers are essentially the same exact thing. The only difference is that you get a rather decent 1000 yard from a quest at the beginning of the DLC.

3 RepliesEdited by BENjiman15: 12/24/2015 7:01:20 PMI've said it before and I'll say it again: Remove the most recent shotgun nerfs (with the exception of range) and slightly extend special ammo timers and there'll be more variety in special weapons, which will in turn push people to experiment with different primary weapons. The day Bungie figures this out will be a wonderful day.
