There should be a skilled based matching system. Leveling the playing field would be beneficial to all players and would make tournament harder for the more skilled players. Getting to the lighthouse by playing players that are equally skilled would make the entire trip harder from round 1 to the last win. It would make it an equal chance to play equal opponents and not have teams dominating each other. I've had matches were we have dominated them and it's not as fun and definitely not challenging. At the same time getting paired against a team that dominates you isn't fun. Currently only a handful of people go to the lighthouse each week and it should be something that everyone should have a chance to do.
Don't be a selfish player and say you're the only one entitled to it when you on fact don't earn your way by dominating others. Dominating other teams isn't earning anything. This is a video game, not life. Things should be equal for all players so everyone can enjoy their games and have fun, because that is the point of the game.
Oh FYI I have been flawless before, so come up with a better argument than just using poor petty childish insults. Go ahead an get all salty because you'd have to earn your way instead of playing the lesser skilled.
Let's keep bumping this!
-
I would completely agree with you if this was the real problem. It doesn't work to match people according to K/D without servers that allow people to play in equal conditions, without the delay caused by country distances and the excessive lag. The problem only gets worse. We're here, every single day, talking about this with hope that bungie will listen. Will they? Their behavior says no.
-
4 RepliesFirst of all. It should have fireteam match making. So should the nightfall since shit sucks anymore. Secondly, games should connect via ping
-
Not basing the games on ping is the entire problem. We don't need skill based matchmaking we need a game plays correctly
-
I respect that your doing this petition but let's be honest Bungie won't listen or do anything about it.
-
By that logic someone who is 2kd in trials might not get in LH but someone rocking a 0.7kd might. It doesnt make sense. And the not so skilled players would never get better if they only play against scrubs. I have friends who moan about not getting to the LH or past 5 wins but then i never see them play skirmish or elimination to get better. Just moan again the next week. Instead they do patrol or w/e. Even in the raid you need reps to get your tactics down and get it done. Why should pvp end game be made easier?
-
Look at my stats before you say anything to me. I do not think there should be matchmaking. I want to play the best and beat the best. The lighthouse should be earned. It shouldn't be watered down so everyone can have a shiny grimoire and cool items. -blam!- no. Keep it how it is. I get salty and rage on the forums. But at the end of the day, I love trials, I want to get better, and I've never been carried. I've been flawless a few times and usually get one character flawless once a week. Maybe one day I'll stomp on kids. For now, I'm the guy who is either unstoppable or just too easy to kill.
-
Why are people saying yes to this? All they will do when they get it is bitch about how they get the worst teammates and can't go flawless.
-
It's fine how it is, the lighthouse is supposed to be a challenge for the best pvp players. They already changed it win based matchmaking to make it harder and the connection in some games is awful, doing this would make it 10times worse. If you aren't good enough to make it go and practice don't complain they need to make it easier for you, I go flawless most weeks but still run into teams who 5-0 me it's part of the game, you just start up and run it again.
-
3 RepliesTrials isn't a competitive game mode. The fact that there are too many different classes and weapons alone rule it out. If trials was truly competitive than we would all use the same gear. Now it's all about who has the better guns and stats on gear. If you're lucky enough to have good rolls on a gun then you automatically have an advantage over someone who doesn't have those rolls. It's a joke.

Edited by x iBeatWood: 12/21/2015 10:44:08 AMUsing your logic everyone should win the superbowl and the world series. Scrub git gud.
-
That's like saying we should I World Cup for bad football teams???? I'm confused af
-
So...let me get this straight... A trial which is meant to find the best of the crucible should have skilled based matchmaking so we can compare the crap players to the crap players and the good players against the good players? I'm hearing you right? Or? If skilled matchmaking came into this I'd just play poorly until I got to trials; then kick ass. Well well...another idiotic proposal to allow casuals to achieve everything. If you want to reach lighthouse get better at the game. It isn't hard. You get all the boons and all it takes is 7 wins. Keep in mind you can even lose!
-
2 RepliesThey went away from connection based match making in favor of matching you against people with the same amount of wins on card. That sounds like skilled match making. But now the lag has been a lot more noticeable since the new matchmaking system.
-
3 RepliesDid you play trials in yr1? The current system is much better that what it used to be. It used to be pure luck. Besides, you're not missing much not making it to the lighthouse. Sure you get an adept weapon, but they're not what they used to be. I understand that primary's with high light are hard to come by so I get that. But really getting to 5 & 7 will probably give you more stuff that you will actually use than lighthouse.
-
4 RepliesNo. SBMM is a mess in CoD It'll also worsen the already awful connections in this game.
-
But you also have to consider teams where one person just so happens to be exceptionally better than his/her teammates. So you'd put that team against one where ALL the players are exceptional? And you may not care, but what about streamers who are trying to help their subscribers get to flawless or something. They're just trying to give back, y'know? And in any case, you're not always gonna find similar teams in a radius close enough that doesn't induce a lag fest. And what about teams where not everyone starts on the same # of wins, and so on? It's just something to consider. Not to say a better form of matchmaking isn't needed, but just my opinion.
-
1 ReplyDidn't they already kind of do that?
-
No it is fine how it is.
-
As long as it's optional
-
4 RepliesLife isn't fair shit for brains. The Lighthouse isn't for everybody and if you can't cut it to make it there you don't deserve to go there.
-
4 RepliesSo let's put this into perspective. Trials is a large bracket based system. Where teams that have the same number of wins go against each other. My team has 7 wins, we go against another team with 7 wins. What is the problem with this? It's based on a time honored tradition of good people playing against good people. Don't worry, you have your skill level down at the 3 wins or 4 wins. We have ours at the flawless level. You want to go to the light house, yet you don't want to work to get there...
-
Why not people say it's already too easy so what difference would it make
-
4 RepliesThis is kind of sort of stupid. So you want the bad players to play the bad players in their own "bracket"? You kids already get participation rewards. The silver and gold tier no longer require wins, you can get a 311+ exotic just by playing. So in the NFL any teams that don't make the playoffs get to partake in their own tournament.. and here's the kicker for the same rewards! Stop being a whiny bitch
-
2 RepliesThe connections are already awful with current matchmaking. Making it skill based will make it worse.
-
4 RepliesPeople who are high skill would deliberately lose to be ranked among low skill players
-
As someone who plays with a guy ranked top15 worldwide, I agree. We have some matches where we'll be at 7/8 wins and roll into a game and just 5-0 them in 2/3minutes. It's a little ridiculous but laughable. Bungie used to have skill matchmaking, back in H2 and H3
