I honestly stopped playing because the guns just aren't that fun. It's truely unfortunate how stubborn they are on the separate PvP from PvE scenario. The weapons just aren't awesome because they have to try (emphasizing try here) to keep PvP balanced. As we have seen from the several debacles that have occurred with "weapon balancing," the design of this game simply does not allow great weapons to be had without incoming nerfs for PvP. #SeparatePvPfromPvEalready

They made all weapons equally mediocre so that not having certain weapons would not be a bar to LFG for endgame content. The problem with that is that people are still requiring Touch of Malice or Black Spindle and 315 light + to do certain endgame activities, so making every weapon highly specialized and super mediocre didn't exactly fix the problem. The only thing that will fix the elitists is if they get rid of LFG all together and implement optional matchmaking instead. But that would require Bungie to do a complete 180 on their current stance about matchmaking...Instead, they will just continue to punish us with lackluster, boring, also-ran weapons that make little to no difference. I believe this was also done in an effort to get us to use a greater variety of weapons, but this hasn't come to fruition either. I use my hung jury, 1000 yard stare/stillpiercer or my Patch A, and my Truth. I have one, maybe two other weapons I mix into the regular rotation, but that is IT. Back in Y1 when we DID have standout weapons, I rotated my weaponry far more often. Yeah, I used Fatebringer, Black Hammer, and Gjallahorn a lot, but I also used Fang of Ir Yut/Icebreaker/Hunger of Crota, Word of Crota/LDR/Dragons Breath, Vision of Confluence/Patience and Time/ and Corrective Measure and several other combo's. I had a TON of different weapons I used in PVP (Timur's Lash (HC), NITC (Scout Rifle), 55AllFate (Pulse Rifle), Vanquisher VIII (Auto), Party Crasher, Praedyth's Revenge, P/T, Jolder's Hammer, Truth, or Corrective Measure. Now, in "competitive" PVP where power matters, I pretty much just use The Villany (Pulse Rifle), Patch A or Stillpiercer, and Truth or Thunderlord. That is pretty much it. Obviously, I can still use my Y1 loadouts for PVP in ordinary crucibabies. To sum things up for the TL;DR'ers out there: there is less variety of USABLE weapons in Y2.

During TDB and HoW I couldn't wait for the weekly reset. It was so fun doing the nightfall and waiting to see if I got something awesome. I couldn't agree with you more. I could care less what drops not. Its all a bunch of bullshit.

Those of us who never got the "You need this weapon", or who didn't have RNG on their side for a WHILE, had to learn to be BadA and be creative. I loved that! I learned to play harder to EARN my gear. Now it's more like "You still playing? Here's a yellow gun... now tell your friends!!! Please!!!"

This year: Try out weapon for five minutes - vault/shard it. That's unless it's below 290 light which is instantly sharded.

So true man, so true. Was actually just thinking the same. There is nothing that can compare to that Vex drop on Atheon... same with Ghorn..... RNG stunk for many but those guns were exciting and worth the wait.... of course, now just to sit in the vault and rot unceremoniously. The game has become boring, it doesn't have that same magic it initially did. I was thinking they improved with this past DLC; using more clear paths to certain weapons.... but I keep thinking back to how much more fun the game was year 1. The weapons were better, stronger. These weapons suck. Now it's all just snipers in PVP, because nothing else can compete.... and really blah weapons overall..... Ugh. The game has hit a really rough phase.

I still remember helping players do VOG. When they got vex or fate bringer or the elusive gally was priceless. The yelling and screaming days from a raid drop are long gone I still watch the videos on YouTube.

Bungie is predictable, they blew their load, & everything is nerfed in pve. Bungie is a reskin company, no longer a pioneer

Mmmmhhhh aha the fatebri.... OOOHHHH SHIT,OMG,AAAHHHHHHH moved on to the exotic chest and I like this: now I need shards....... Got Thunderlord....... YYYYEEEESSSSS,YYYYYYYEEEEESSSSSSS LETS GO beat Atheon ..... Got some shards and the sparrow .....YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS some weeks after that I got the Crux of Crota and I like this: YEEEEESSSSSSSS I know the gun sucks but YYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSS Some time after that: OOOHHH I HOT THE VEX OMG IT HAPPEND AAAAHHHHHHHH that was year 1 Year 2: Let me try some 3 of coins.....
