Seriously, let's put some fear into what we face. Look at dead space. Necromorphs are scary as hell. Destiny needs this in Destiny 2 to gain players back. Also, how about a rogue guardian faction. I'm just tired of shooting Looney tunes aliens

I remember being horrified of the flood... I think it was because you could see that they were form or soldiers that got transformed and your like oh shhh don't want that to be me!
-
... I actually think all the aliens are great

Edited by Jeff the Cabal: 12/20/2015 3:06:51 PMWell, that's simply is not what destiny is about. You're looking at the wrong game if you're looking for something like necromorphs. I could see some halo level of enemies but nothing close to necromorphs. It also wouldn't fit the game.
-
But halo has something similar with the flood. I would love something similar but it is unlikely to happen
-
2 RepliesBring the fear! Like halo reach did!

1 ReplyThe claw decides who will go and who will stay.

I loved dead space it did a great job of creating this atmosphere tha was not only extremely creepy but claustrophobic as well. I see what you mean. Bungie talks about creating this sense of urgency that time is running out and if you fail everyone is doomed. It's not there yet.

11 RepliesPeople are really having intense arguments down there but don't realize this game sucks either way
-
1 ReplyI wouldnt mind some halo level cartoony creatures but many younger kids play this game so that makes putting more scary enemies not worth it.
-
2 RepliesDumb ass that a horror game go play dead space 3 that shit suck ass that why you're not getting part 4 and this is not a horror game facts
-
10 RepliesWhat we need is to see consequences of the actions in-game, more of what TTK showed us - sacrifice, remorse, death, fear - things that help us become invested in the characters and story. If blood, gore, and swearing is what it takes to get you "into" a story, then your either don't know what good story telling is, or are just immature.

1 ReplyHave you seen a cabals face, utterly terrifying.
-
3 RepliesIts why it can achieve a T rating from the ESRB -godwinslaw!- regime

2 RepliesYes! Just look at the Cabal's description..."800lbs and blow up planets and moons..." But they look like fat, stay-puff marshmallows.
-
Agreed. Although some enemies look cool

It would be good if this game was a little darker/grittier in tone. The game fails at delivering any sort of story/context to make the various aliens you fight feel more than theatening lol Sucks. Maybe theres shit in the grimmoire. Atleast in halo you saw/heard what species like the flood could do, that made them feel a bit more threatening (to some extent.) In the end the games rated teen, id say a good chunk of this community are under 15 so they cant alienate them and and the chance they beg their parents to buy in game silver for a cool dance move 😛

57 RepliesEdited by Senor Crouch: 12/19/2015 8:46:02 AMYou can have a model that looks scary, but without proper context then at best the creature in question becomes a joke. Necromorphs are scary, but the question is why? Well if you look at one you can tell it used to be a person. A person that has been horribly horribly disfigured and overtaken. We can infer that this creature was once an average Joe. The fear and dread comes from the context of the character. You, being a human yourself, understand that you are not necessarily immune to whatever it is that did this to poor average Joe. Take for example an image of a nice old man at a park pushing a child on a swing. Seems lighthearted enough right, until you find out that the old man is a known pedophile....then suddenly the image becomes creepy, disgusting, and scary. Context. What's happening with Bungie's four main antagonist species in Destiny? We are consistently told they are bad, but we never see or feel it. We are never given the chance to experience the context Bungie is trying to convey and thus each of these four species (that could be terrifying) are seen as nothing more than huge jokes. This is only reinforced when Destiny's main character NPCs never seem overly worried or concerned about end of the world events that are supposedly happening around them. If a tank rolled down my street and started firing and I had Harry Potter like magic at my disposal, my reaction would not be to chill at my dining room table staring down at the daily newspaper thinking about what I would want for dinner that evening. There is never a moment where we see the Hive doing something abhorrent like what the Flood did to Captain Keys in Halo CE. Nor do we ever see the Fallen mowing down allies like we see the Covenant do in Halo CE. We don't see it, we don't feel it, and thus we don't care about it.

4 RepliesMaking the game appeal to kids means more money; sorry but you ain't getting anything.

One letter T
-
That would be the colour and art style of bungie provided by there game engine exactly same as halo
-
1 ReplyYeah, they should have sex and swear too, blood and guts, maybe torture scenes, we need more violence
-
Destiny needed to be rated M. The enemies could have been so much more hardcore and terrifying to fight, especially the hive, dear god.
-
5 RepliesYou haven't done the raid have you? Ever take a good look at Golgoroth? Or the Deathsingers?
-
3 RepliesHow about Destiny Souls?
-
7 RepliesDead Space= horror. Where you're basically helpless against numberless enemies. This game is not that game.
