One of the worst jobs I can think of. Hate sales and hate the pressure that comes with it. The hard sell.. You may as well slip your hand into someone's wallet and practically steal the money.
The amount of times I seen a colleague lie and bully a customer into buying something was astonishing. And to have my manager praise me in front of the entire team for selling a 90+ old lady over £2,500 worth of items and express it as "swindled this little old lady out of £2,500" with a giant grin on his face... Need a crook mindset for that job and that isn't me.
Im sorry that you had a nasty past experience with your manager. But what I dont understand is you getting yelled for making money for the business you're working at. As a manager and as everyone who works as a manager , his/her objective is to simply "make profit and increase sales" aka making money. Now you just sold an item for who I dont care is for a lady or a guy in any age for £2,500! They should be really pleased with your effort to actually do something. I find it absurd for them to yell at you rather than motivating you. Im glad you quit your job and I hope he feels ashamed with his behavior towards you.
