An idea to re introduce a classic weapon. Buff the damage to 150 and make a quest to get it. Like the strangers rifle in the fruit of the garden quest. A heroic version of the first mission but instead of being revived you ship drops u in. Your ghost says that there is a certain weapon that may be of interest to you and you need to find it. The mission will be at 250 light difficulty but once u find the khvostov, it automatically locks to your equipped primary and stays like that for the duration of the mission. It will be 150 light so recommend entering mission at around 290 light. After finishing the mission you will have to head to the gunsmith. Then u will have to get auto rifle kills in the crucible like the last word portion of the chaperone quest. Then you will head to the gunsmith and he will give you blueprints that will need 5 parts. Each on a different planet ( and dreadnaught). After that you will get a prototype weapon from the gunsmith that is called 'old time sake'. You will need 200 crucible kills with it. 500 PvE kills with it. And to infuse it to 290 light. Then you give it to the gunsmith and he will make u use the original khvostov at 150 light to get 700 PvE kills until arms day and 300 crucible kills. This will half reset every arms day, so if you are at 500 PvE kills then it would drop to 250. After completing wait until arms day to recieve ' khvostov rising'.
Stats for khvostov rising here:
Auto rifle with same stats as the khvostov with more impact and increase mag size.
Description: It was once used to kill fallen. Now it kills everything.
Exotic perk:
To fall some fallen: this weapon deals more damage against fallen enemies.
Perk1: Persistence.
Exotic perk 2: Russian technology: this weapon deals more damage when on earth and what ever fallen weapon hits u since respawn the element will be carried across. ( if a shrapnel launcher hits u, the weapon will be solar but will change if a different element of fallen weapon hits u ,such as a wire rifle. The elemental damage will disappear if the wielder dies but will reappear when hit again.
This took me ages to write so thoughts?
Edit: it has been requested that I do background info on it and that is what I shall do.
The khvostov was a battered weapon, but still fired true. The sight was cracked and the barrel scratched but the bullets were not. In the cosmodrome it stayed until it was disturbed. Disturbed by the light. Disturbed by you. The use and infusion with light forged the khvostov rising. A once fallen killing machine now is an everything killing machine. The light served this weapon well. Now it will serve you well.
Edit 2: lowered the numbers on the using khvostov part. When I reread it seemed a bit impossible

1 ReplySaw the crucible and said no. But probably could be a cool idea

Shame less self bump

4 RepliesYour numbers are a bit much but i like the idea.

2 Replies- saw the wall of text - clicked no

1 ReplyAmazing idea. Love it!
-
3 RepliesThere is already a perk that does extra damage to fallen enemies I have it on my Imago Loop
-
3 RepliesThose quests steps are ridiculous. I'm not gonna spend that much time grinding for that weapon. Also, those perks wouldn't make a very good exotic. Good for earth patrol and SABER strike but that's it.
-
2 RepliesTo fallen oriented, would only be useful in select situations
-
5 RepliesI'd say exotic second perk not the first
-
1 ReplyProbably make the exotic perk something that compliments those skilled players. If they can finish this, they don't really need a boost. What they need is something fun and incredibly good for all circumstances IF they use it right. I like the idea though

7 RepliesI was sorta interested in this idea, but your kill numbers are like 10x too high. It's an interesting weapon, but it ain't that good for all that crap you listed. The reward, that gun, isn't worth that much effort.
-
If you're a real man, you wouldn't tamper with perfection. The gun is perfect the way it is.

4 RepliesIt's just a poopy rifle left in a corner of the cosmodrome. At least make the Vex drag it through the infinity of time and send it back like V'Ger from Star Trek to be so overpowered...
-
3 RepliesInteresting idea, but the requirements should be a little less demanding. Mainly the 1000/400 kills before armsday, if not for that reset it wouldn't be that bad.
