EDIT 0: I understand some of you may have trouble reading, so before posting plz read, I never ask for a nerf I think the super is fine, i just never knew it could last as long as it has.
Original post
Seriously!
like 20 solid seconds, I get killed by stormcaller, respawn on the other side of the map, I'm there for about 4-5 seconds and they storm caller still fukking floating around wiping shiit out, I start backing and jumping thinking it'll run out soon...
NO! it doesn't he kills me again, then I proceed to watch him fukking hover around for another good 3 seconds. I was just in awe.
EDIT 1: I've never really complained about an opposing class's super.. And I'm not really complaining as much as I'm just kind of shocked (no pun) how long it lasted.
EDIT 2: It seems now the only way to really solve this issue is to buff one of the Hunters supers to where it's op, then rebuff sunbreaker, and slight buff to storm callers and we can all be happy I think. (Jk sarcasm)
EDIT 3: thank you to the guys explaining how the actual super can last that long
EDIT 4: Just killed a fully charged sunbreaker with a throwing knife and my sidearm lol
EDIT 5 I do apologize to some if I may have came off as a whining biatch asking for a nerf. I do not think the class needs a nerf in any way. I have killed alot of storm callers while they were in the midst of stormcalling. My post was a bit antsy, I was just more impressed with how long it actually lasted.
EDIT 6: I main two hunters so I can get to level 320 quicker, once I'm there I will main two warlocks, upon getting one of them to 320, I will main a Titan, you see how I increase the longevity of the game this way? I play one class at a time.

I've been playing a hunter now for a couple months and I think the hunter is OP in crucible.. My KD on my hunter is usually around 2.0 every match.. Bad internet at my house brings it down some games but hunter is by far easiest to wreck with. No hunter should ever complain, shutting down sun breakers pre nerf wasn't even hard after you learned their weakness. Shadow step, tether, snipe head grenade... I've maimed a warlock since day 1 and have a Titan. Hunters are still amazing and always will be with their mobility and agility in crucible. No nerfs needed for supers.. Buffs would be nice for PvE

You have two hunters. Invalid
-
It's called a perk called Transcendence,it makes it last longer if you have grenade and Melee fully charged
-
1 ReplyEdited by Dragonfood: 12/12/2015 3:38:14 PMIt might last long, but also has its own detriments. The range is bad, just outside normal shotgun range. Your jump is horrid. You have no overshield. You can't throw grenades or melee, you are stuck floating around even if you want to escape it. The animation is long allowing you to be sniped easily, not that it matters because you can still be sniped or even blink shotgunned while supered. Oh, and landfall only works if someone is stupid enough to charge a warlock with a shotty. Extreme close range.

Dude, please we Warlock's never complain about another guardian super.... We already had a nerf to our nova bomb in year one against the Titan defender bubble... Shhhhhhhhhh
-
As a Titan who watched as our class was diminished I will not watch as another is brought low The reason his super last as long as it does is due to perk synergy and bad spawns on the games part, that is what allowed you to die twice to the same guy in his super Don't call the storm callers out on super roam time and instead call out against bad spawning across both maps and game types
-
2 RepliesThere's a perk on the super which allows Stormtrance to last longer when cast with full grenade and melee energy.
-
2 RepliesWarlocks double melee is -blam!-ing ridiculous. That piece of shit melee of theirs will hit you even if they have their back facing you. Bungie really needs to remove the training wheels with this aim assist bullshit.
-
2 RepliesTrump should ban all Hunters when he becomes president so America can be great again.
-
They are so easy to kill wow

Sunbreakers last and (I'm calling it now) Stormcallers next. Hunters just won't rest until they dominate PvP yet again! Once at the top, down to the gutters and now bitching their way back to the top!!! Guess it's pretty hard being a lowly has-been.
;)
My main is a warlock and I have to agree that storm callers super is way too overpowered, I have managed 9 kills with one super May be easier killed but that requires you having a good bit of distance on them and in some maps that's just not possible.

11 RepliesAll of these people saying "hur dur it's balanced because you have to keep your grenade and melee". It's not hard at all you idiots. There's also this thing call discipline and strength that you may have heard of? How often in a game of PvP are you using grenades and fully charged melees anyway? Most of the time you're using a gun and not worrying about the other stuff. Obviously melee fights happen but you don't need a fully charged melee for that, especially when you have the longest reaching melee in the game! Whenever I have used my Stormcaller in pvp, I use my grenades and melees as usual, but once I'm about 3/4 of my super bar I hold off. That way, I get to instantly use transcendence when I get super charged. This argument that this makes it balances is stupid. It lasts way too long and yes I use ionic blink. I also get a free mini fist of havoc that can get me a kill or two. All in all, I get a mini fist of havoc on activation, I can teleport around and I can hold down my trigger and keep zapping people with my insane tracking on the Lightning. It's always been OP, people who claim it's not are just trying to save their super. The only reason people are talking about it now because the hammer was nerfed. Everybody knew that stormtrance was being over looked because hammer of sol was so much better. Before anyone says it, I play all 3 classes, maxed out all 3 sub classes for each. Yes, I do have the most game time on my Hunter because it was my first character and it is my favourite. I main a golden gun hunter anyway so I wasn't affected by nerfs to arc blade. I have played enough on all 3 classes to know what is and what isn't OP and I'm sorry to all you Warlocks but stormtrance is a little too good.
-
Stormtrance is fine... unlike hammers they can atleast be killed next time you encounter one try shooting him instead of running because he's gonna catch up plus they have no hp regen, so any damage you do will help the next guy take him down 1 headshot, 3 body shots, or 10 shots of any high impact weapon... I complain about supers walking through my tether or getting hit directly and maintaining it but you don't see me here talking about it
-
oh no! now we need a storm caller nerf?!¡¿?! kids like you are plebs.
-
1 ReplyThey have a perk where if you cast your super with full memes and grenade energy your super lasts longer.
-
3 RepliesHammers still last longer right? I'm not sure if the update changed that.
-
OP has 2 Hunters, what a surprise. Its not OP. Sunbreaker was OP. Stormcallers can be shutdown very easily. Sunbreaker lasts a lot longer (20+ seconds).
-
Shut up
-
It would only be because of that one perk. Doesn't seem many people use it though and stormcallers are easy to deal with
-
Suck it!!
-
2 RepliesThey are the scrub class, they need all the help they can get.
-
Having a long duration for our super only occurs when you have Transcendence on along while keeping your abilities unused. Technically, it is the only advantage we have. Instead of chucking one-shot projectiles, we have to genuinely walk up to you and risk our lives. If you want to be able to actually keep a streak, you would have to use the Ionic Blink to be able to dodge bullets but at the cost of a second from your Stormtrance for each blink. Overall, we have least chances against longer range supers which cover most of all subclasses. I find it hard to agree why you think we're OP.
-
Edited by Walrus Walter: 12/12/2015 1:38:41 PMYou have to sacrifice using your melee and grenade or wait until they're charged to get it to activate transcendence. It really does suck sometimes
-
It is a perk on the skill tree. U need a charged grenade and melee and then you are good to go. Otherwise it lasts like two seconds and Welp no kills 4 u
