think about the way other games do micro transactions and DLC's. think about how bungie decided to basically say "hey, this money we're getting is going to fund future events! and DLC!" but this isn't even real content nor is it even remotely close to DLC. This is stuff they had all drawn up and ready to go already and time gated and put on a schedule to make you think they actually put work into coding all of these experiences for you. what bungie did was promise us real content but what they actually gave us were empty promises. like waking up on Christmas morning to getting a few pairs of socks from santa. and then you go to school the next day and realize Santa loves rich kids a whole lot more than he loves you.
the reality of the situation is that most other games use money from the one time purchase of a season pass to fund years of content. look at titles like fallout 4 (bethesda said they'd be funding the next two two years worth of fallout 4 DLC with the money from their $30 season passes) , ESO, GTA V (completely free DLC), Battlefield 4, etc. the list goes on and on.
what could possibly make the situation worse? this content which we are paying way more than we should be for is actually being hidden behind a pay wall. there should be no pay wall. anybody from year 1 who owns TTK has paid at least $100 to play this game for the last year. a single year!even the most widely known money Grubbing company (EA) doesn't take things this far guys. wake up. they do micro transactions too, but at least most of the stuff they sell, you can earn though just playing the game (like fifa coins, packs, etc.).
TLDR: we, as gamers, need to wake up to this corporate tomfoolery and stop being taken advantage of. stop throwing your money away because it's hurting this game more and more each day. maybe you don't think it's being wasted, but it's definitely not being put to good use. and you could get more bang from your buck doing other things with the money you're throwing at a screen with a picture of destiny on it. how do you do this you ask? don't pre-order destiny 2 or any paid DLC! and don't immediately buy it after release. wait a few days first and see what other people think of it. make informed purchases. and the problem will eventually get better.

EA don't develope games. Big difference between developers and publishers. Bungie are a team of developers that have destiny released/financed via activision. I honestly thought activision was going to get somewhat better after blizzard took over ...

These posts are soooooo tiresome. These are the rantings of the type of person that has no job (probably never has), has an immense amount of free time, knows nothing about software and game development, doesn't appreciate the amount of effort and artisanship that goes into this stuff. Crying about this kind of stuff is incredibly immature. Go get a life, and stop clotting up this forum with garbage whining.

4 RepliesI bet you bitch at McDonalds for time-gating the McRib you entitled twat.

Activision. Have you played Halo?

1 ReplyYou know there is actual corporate greed in the world that negatively affects people in very serious ways, right? This does not matter.

EVERYONE! Rise from the lies and deceit that Bungie and Activision has thrown on us. We deserve a game that is worth 60 dollars that won't rip us off. -blam!- Destiny. Leave this -blam!-ing bullshit game. Bungie and Activision only wants your money. Go play something else like Fallout 4, BO3, SW Battlefront, Halo 5. These games are better than Destiny.

Whats another game that I'll pay $150 for amd have over 1000 hours playing?

Hook, line, and sinker.

1 ReplyI won't buy any emotes with my money. Or record books for half the cost of a dlc. Or masks, or any other stupid thing that does little in the way of the game. Ever. True dlc with a raid, story, etc, yeah I will spend on. But I won't be Candy Crushed by these twats.

1 ReplyEa is a publisher Bungie is a developer. Is this satire?
-
Correction, someone that has taken king and played since year one has at least 120$ in game since you have to own tdb and how, not just vanilla, to access taken king content

1 ReplyWhile bungie is being greedy...activision is the bigger problem. Look at cod for example...they have had micro transactions for a while, pump out game after game, and do not care about the players. How many of their games truely have dedicated servers? If you say black ops 3 you would be wrong. Pc has dedicated servers, current gen has a hybrid with player to player connection, and last gen has player to player only. Before anyone says last gen is just holding it back think about this...how many multiplatform battlefield gamea have dedicated servers?

So planning events and dlc = time gating? This is news to me. Because by that logic everything in every game ever is time gated

2 RepliesI won't have an issue with these micro transactions if we get a genuine, expansion sized bit of free dlc next year.

First off, I am definitely not defending bungie. They are pretty bad and getting worse. But I just had to say that ea is probably still the worst money grabbers of all time. The price of battlefront was 79.99 and the price of the season pass is a whopping 69.99. They are the ones that set the bar for prices. Ps3 nhl 16: legacy edition(basically just a roster update to nhl15) is 79.99. Year in and year out their sports games have been ruined by micro transactions and they have the monopoly on most of the major sports(bring back 2ksports, not just basketball). It sucks that I have to play an ea game to play football or hockey on my console. We all have to be smarter in our purchases for this trend to change. Battlefront was a disgrace to the star wars franchise as far as I'm concerned.

Check out some kickstarter bs. Mighty No. 9 for example

didnt even buy ttk

I agree. Another problem is that no longer can you put 200 hours into a game and earn everything. These turds make you put in at least a 1000 hours now. Demons Souls on PS3, 200 hours got every trophy. Good luck getting that now. Knowing when to walk away is priceless.

I think it's activision that keeps on using dlc
-
Although I agree with what you said, Think about this, Bethesda promising two years of dlc for one years season pass.....
sounds like they timegate content too ;)
I agree with most of your post. Admittedly, players don't have to buy any of the MT'S but sadly the amount of people that do ,far outweigh those that don't. The thing I that surprises me in all of this is the sheer amount of full-on retards that spend a lot of money just to get 1 particular item, for no real reason other than 'it looks good'. I refer to the blue Sparrow ( it's name evades me) and have seen posts where people are spending in excess of $100 trying to get it. While there are players doing this, Eververse will continually churn something out as it's a major money-spinner for Bungivision. As the late and great W.C Fields used to say, " Never give a sucker an even break".

No one is being forced to buy their micro transactions content, they just put it out there and know the consumer will buy it up, and sadly it's going to keep happening. .I just wonder what the next one will be..it should be a big bang of one for Christmas
