think about the way other games do micro transactions and DLC's. think about how bungie decided to basically say "hey, this money we're getting is going to fund future events! and DLC!" but this isn't even real content nor is it even remotely close to DLC. This is stuff they had all drawn up and ready to go already and time gated and put on a schedule to make you think they actually put work into coding all of these experiences for you. what bungie did was promise us real content but what they actually gave us were empty promises. like waking up on Christmas morning to getting a few pairs of socks from santa. and then you go to school the next day and realize Santa loves rich kids a whole lot more than he loves you.
the reality of the situation is that most other games use money from the one time purchase of a season pass to fund years of content. look at titles like fallout 4 (bethesda said they'd be funding the next two two years worth of fallout 4 DLC with the money from their $30 season passes) , ESO, GTA V (completely free DLC), Battlefield 4, etc. the list goes on and on.
what could possibly make the situation worse? this content which we are paying way more than we should be for is actually being hidden behind a pay wall. there should be no pay wall. anybody from year 1 who owns TTK has paid at least $100 to play this game for the last year. a single year!even the most widely known money Grubbing company (EA) doesn't take things this far guys. wake up. they do micro transactions too, but at least most of the stuff they sell, you can earn though just playing the game (like fifa coins, packs, etc.).
TLDR: we, as gamers, need to wake up to this corporate tomfoolery and stop being taken advantage of. stop throwing your money away because it's hurting this game more and more each day. maybe you don't think it's being wasted, but it's definitely not being put to good use. and you could get more bang from your buck doing other things with the money you're throwing at a screen with a picture of destiny on it. how do you do this you ask? don't pre-order destiny 2 or any paid DLC! and don't immediately buy it after release. wait a few days first and see what other people think of it. make informed purchases. and the problem will eventually get better.

7 RepliesIt's not Bungie, it's Activision. EA is a game publisher Activision is a game publisher EA is very forward about pricing Activision pushes other companies into fire EA publishes good games (Dragon Age, SWTOR, Mass Effect) Activision published CoD (enough said) Bungie is in the thick of forum community shit
-
Ha no the worst is konami
-
Say what you want about Activision and EA, but at least they didn't commit the crime of shitting Colonial Marines into existence. #neverforget
-
There's nothing I see in Destiny's microtransactions that are not considered industry norms nowadays. And a lot better than some, I might add.
-
As forum posters we have to control the size of our titles.
-
tl;dr

You can't compare bungie and EA. You could compare Activision and EA. That would make more sense.
-
Need a tldr for the tldr
-
EA is a publisher. Not a game developer. As such it can be compared to activision, not Bungie.
-
EA is still much worse
-
Fix your title to activision and u might have it correctly
-
Ea just published bad games, that's the only crime
-
I see you're level 40 so obvious you agreed to the changes they made to the game said yes to the EULA. Otherwise a smart person like yourself would of said NO and asked for a refund in accordance with the agreement.

Goddamn that title.

2 RepliesLong rant.... just gonna say it is not Bungie, it's Activision. They are running it all on the monetary end.
-
Thanks you totally woke me up. Now I'm gonna go play Destiny.
-
2 RepliesIt's Activision, Bungie is fine
-
Bungie is the reason why the Cowboys are doing horrible this football season.

2 RepliesI disagree. Inflation alone should mean my game should cost more than $60. Games were $60 in 2005, today $60 doesn't go as far. Also games are more expensive to create today, so I don't thinks it's unfair to pay more. I'm thankful that I don't "have" to buy the silver in order to play. Add that to a persistent world game used to cost monthly fees that I spent $180 a year, plus the game, to play. Destiny's current iteration is fair, even cheap.

7 RepliesYou do know It's not bungie, its activision, you clearly don't know what you're talking about so...
-
Agreed.

Or you can take your ball and go home. Thanks!
