What might actually kill Destiny...

First off, I hate these posts so I am officially a hypocrite. But I have come to the conclusion that that there is a fundamental flaw with this game. It relies too much on the social aspect of gaming. Not everyone has a group of friends that play this game. Some did, but not everyone is gonna be here for the long haul. Some have already left. At its core Destiny is not designed to keep people looking for a single player experience interested. Even the PvP endgame seems hell bent on encouraging teamwork with people you know in order to develop the communication necessary to succeed. Now LFG groups fill some of that void, but they are far from a perfect solution. Trying to find a solid group is a pain in the ass so people get picky about prequalifying people which, while I completely understand it, leads to more hard feelings among those who have yet to master the endgame experience. And let's face it, matchmaking would be a train wreck on raids and trials. Just hang out in the court of oryx if you want a taste of what matchmaking would look like. I really like this game. I really like Bungie. I want to continue my journey. But I don't fit the target audience. Often times I just want to play alone. I also don't always play well with others. This game can be very frustrating and this can be very difficult when not playing with people that know you outside the game. I honestly believe that unless they engineer more single player content that I am going to have to quit. Which is a shame because I love this game. I'm just not a social gamer. I get the feeling that I am not alone.
