I got hooked to gaming in a funny way. A guy I liked came over to show me his game and I had no desire to watch or anything. He forgot it and one day I put it in.
Final fantasy VIII in the original PlayStation. I got addicted. Played and played and played and changed the discs. Then got to the end of the game and realized I hadn't gotten doom train. So I had a heck of a time defeating the boss in fact I didn't. So I started over. Literally worked my ass off to beat that game with no guides or Internet to look at to figure out how to do it. When the end came I cried I won't lie. Hundreds of hours... Side quests, trying to level my characters, pass the tests to get more money.
What was your first game that got you hooked? What was your story?

Edited by Damptowelman: 12/9/2015 3:36:07 PMTony Hawk's Pro Skater on N64. It was my older brother's console and one day I decided I wanted to play. I was really young at the time, so the only thing I knew how to do was move the stick around. I didn't do any tricks for a while. Then I got into his other games. He had both versions of Pokemon (Red and Blue) so he let me play Blue when he wasn't using the GameBoy. I slowly started moving into more games like Mario 64, and my mom noticed I was having a lot of fun. She got us a GameCube for Christmas the year it came out with Luigi's Mansion. I don't remember if we got any other games for it that Christmas. I open the first door that needed a key and I got REALLY scared when the ghost came out, so I turned the game off and waited for my mom to come in and watch me play so I wouldn't get scared again

Edited by Blueberry Milk ツ: 12/9/2015 12:55:36 PMThe game that got me hooked and I have been a gamer ever since, Call of Duty: Black Ops. That was the game I made all my friends buy.

Legend of Dragoon got me hooked. I would play games every once in a while. But then I started playing that one. Played it till I nearly beat it. But then the last disc got so scratched up I couldn't finish it. Got frustrated enough and switch games to fill the hole of an incomplete game. Ended up not beating it till only a few years ago.

Pokemon got me started, but I will never forget the babysitter that brought his Xbox and introduced me to Halo. The rest is history!

Edited by ThatAmazingIdea: 12/9/2015 3:06:13 AMHalo. My friends are based around gaming together, so when we were young and I had no gaming experience, the constant talk of Halo got these cool images in my head. I played for like half an hour with my friends at their house and had no idea what was happening, but loved it. Eventually got my family to buy me a xbox...they started off slow though. I got the original xbox with Halo CE and Halo 2! I finished each campaign like halfway (I got lost in CE for hours at a time so I just got bored... and when I got to the flood in Halo 2... I was too terrified), but these introduced me to Halo and console FPS's. Then we sold the original xbox, got a 360 with Halo 3 and Halo Wars. Halo 3 really got me into it, and I played the campaign on easy for like hours a day for an entire summer. Halo Wars was also not too bad, and I finished that. It took me a very long struggle to get my 360 to connect to the internet (it's an old 60gb that needs external wifi adapter to use wifi) and I played customs with my friends. Most fond memory I have playing hours a day goofing off with my friends who absolutely demolished me while we did stupid stuff in Halo 3. Halo 3 was the game that really set in stone my love for Halo, and later I bought Reach for 5 bucks a month before it went free for gold. I was still bad at aiming and stuff, but I got better by the end of Halo 3 and Reach was the game that finally got me into actual multiplayer against other people. It was the main game to help my aim and improve me to a good Halo level. Then Xbox One with MCC (skipped Halo 4 on 360). By this time I was good. Now I think I'm above average to good. Only notable game that played a role in my coop love was original xbox racing game with stupid physics against my brothers (who don't game). Fair ground, and we all sat together enjoying the random physics.
