It's 9. If you can't do that math then go back to elementary school.

In PEMDAS, M & D are grouped together while A & S are grouped together. When both are applicable go left to right

2 RepliesEdited by Microsoft Office: 12/12/2015 8:57:46 PMIt all comes down to wether 6 / 2 is supposed to be a fraction or not in the original problem. P E M D A S Multiply Before Dividing 6 / 2 * (1+2) 6 / 2 * 3 6 / 6 1 It could, however, be 9 if you present 6 / 2 as a fraction (6/2) * (1+2) (3) * (1+2) (3) * 3 9

1 ReplyIt isn't PEMDAS It's PEMA DS

2 RepliesEdited by CDay007: 12/12/2015 6:24:18 PMI think the way it's written messes it up. If you read it as 6/2(1+2) it is 9. If you read it as 6 over the quantity of 2(1+2) (like a fraction with 6 on top) it's 1.

1 ReplyTo every one who says to distribute you first have to divide 6 by 2. You get three then you distribute; (3•1) + (3•2) = 9

9 I believe.

Right to left Subtraction- Same rules apply as addition 6/2 x (1+2) P- 1 + 2 =3 6/2 x 3 M & D( Left to right!) 6/2=3 x 3 = 9

1 Reply1 is the answer, (1+2)=3. 2(3)=6. 6/6=1.
