Dear Bungie,
I am a Johovas Witness and by you forcing me to be a part of your random "festive days" is highly offensive and it puts me in an uncomfortable and unfortunate predicament. I'm a gamer.. I want to play video games, not celebrate holidays; especially those that are unfairly forced on those who don't believe in doing so. The only "holiday" we do celebrate is the memorial of Christ's death so if you'd like to celebrate that when it comes around I'd be open to that.
Im not bashing on any single religion or anyone's beliefs, I hope that anyone who reads this doesn't find it offensiveZ just please don't bash on my religion.
I have the freedom of speech
Thanks,
-Steej
Edit 1: I even apologized ahead of time if my post offends you. I did not mean to upset anyone. I also asked for you to refrain from bashing my religion. I did not bash on anyone elses.
Edit 2: So you found an old post of mine that said "big booty bitches" ... How am I "rekt"? I like big asses.. Wow.. That really takes away from me being Jehovas Witness...not
I think it's time for you children to grow up.

I totally agree this whole sparrow racing event is blasphemy Jezus did not have a sparrow and therefore it is insulting!

Religion is the bane of modern civilisation..... I don't dislike one particular religion, I dislike them all.....

Edited by Yajuu Omoi: 12/6/2015 11:42:58 PMDestiny celebrated a fake destiny holiday. They literally made up a holiday, and celebrated it. Get over it.

Bungie is an American company. If you're playing an American game you have to expect to see some of the culture, traditions, and ideals of American culture. Just like if you watched a Japanese animation you would expect to see their traditions embedded in the anime. Point is... if your choosing to play the game. Then no one is forcing an agenda on you. If you don't like it. Stop playing the game.
-
So you're a Jehovahs witness but you can't spell Jehovah, and both times you mention it you not only spell jehovah wrong but differently? I smell trollshit
-
There is something called freedom. You can be free to not play a game that offends you. You can also be free to either let it bother you or you can freely ignore it and keep moving on. If the holidays offend you, then don't look at them from a religious aspect, think of them as a reason to see friends and family with some paid days off work. You are free to type your feelings here and also we are free to disagree and say tough sh!t.

1 ReplyGrow the -blam!- up and stop being such a -blam!-ing Sensitive Sally. You bitching just to bitch is offensive to me. Since you are so worried about things being offensive you should value that I am offended by you and STFU.
-
Go back to riding your push bike around town mowing people's lawns that will read your shit
-
And I don't want your bullshit, nonsensical religion sending half assed missionary workers to my door. YOU BELIEVE IN A STUPID THING. Ya Win some, ya Lose some.

What the -blam!- did I just read.... Can we seriously leave religious bullshit out of gaming communities? Why is this so difficult? Religion is a poison that people willingly swallow, but then try to mix it with everything they get involved with. If you don't like the seasonal celebrations and fun little things bungie does, then how about....you leave. I hear it's really easy.

7 RepliesIs violence against your religion. Guns? Etc. Seems like most religious people pick and choose which things offend them. At some point you just gotta be an adult and say yes i dont want to partake but alot of other people do. So suck it up and play something else. If they do anything for any holiday its coming from a good place to provide us with a good time. No developer is going out of the way to offend any race religion etc. It just comes down to as simple as get over it.
-
Stop forcing your beliefs on people in America. When y'all used to come knocking on my door I would in no certain terms tell you to get the fu$k off my property. Screw you
-
You do understand that religiously speaking this game is based on devils and witchcraft, which in and of itself violates what you say you want to follow....you can't pick and choose which parts of religion you want to follow.
-
Lost me at being a Jehovian but you caught my eye on the second edit. An ass man can't be that bad. Prison school reference.
-
It's a game that worships a giant floating space ball....
-
Then don't particapate, none of the side stuff is required.
-
How about this. Take your opinion. And shove it up your anus. Nobody cares about your religious alignment and nothing is gonna change. All these weak minded people need to get over themselves and stop being offended by every little thing. And no I'm not talking just the forums. The world. 2015 is the year of butthurt from being offended.

1 ReplyWhat does "forcing America" on you have to do with being a witness? I get dumbererererer after reading stuff on this forum.
-
I'm not buying it. But I just couldn't help myself and decided to respond. The event in question may have had similarities with Halloween but was never referred to as a Halloween celebration. Instead it was a generic festival just celebrating a particular time of year just for the hell of it. So therefore no American traditions were forced upon anyone. P.S. no guardians were harmed during the creation of this post.

Things that are mandatory like school have religion and politics etc. kept out of them because you are forced to go. Voluntary events shouldn't be bound be the same constraints because you can choose to not participate. The hive, vex and fallen all worship their gods in game so the context of religion is already in the game. If holiday themes bother you, don't play for the duration of the event. If Bungie decision to include these events bother you don't play their game. There's lots of other games that have no religious influences in them.
