Edit2: We broke 100! That is absolutely amazing!
Edit: Holy shitballs to the uppermost, Batman. Close to 90 likes! Thank you all very much. Can we break 100?
Before I start I'd like to say thank you to everyone for the overwhelmingly positive feedback, the input and comments. Much appreciated. I will get onto making videos soon as well, so stay tuned for that. As usual, you can find me on twitch at twitch.tv/LookAtMyMuzzle, so if you see me online, please do swing by the chat and say hi.
So, let's get into it! The first week of December brought us a not only the least challenging “Challenge Mode” since I dared my grandmother to fall asleep on her chair, but also a batch of good weapons (in theory, anyway). Because of last week’s rather subpar offering, I didn’t have enough space to get the Omolon Uffern HC4. Consequently, if anyone did, please give your thoughts on it below.
Let’s start with the new stuff and work ourselves backwards in time, so to speak.
Suros Dis-47
The Dis-47 is a faster RoF, lower impact scout in the 52-35 archetype (i.e. the “Deadshot Luna archetype”, almost a low RoF auto kind of scout, if that makes sense). It’s got decent overall stats, 74 aim assist and 74 equip speed. This week’s rolls are:
1. Hammer Forged, Feather Mag, Rangefinder, Speed Reload, Smallbore.
2. High Caliber Rounds, Appended Magazine, Take A Knee, Snapshot, Injection Mold.
3. Hammer Forged, Feather Mag, Full Auto, Lightweight, Smallbore.
Not bad, but not amazing. The first roll will up your range by a gazillion, but range has never really been an issue on scout rifles. The second is, well, interesting. The third seems a given though. Because of the gun's nature - nearly an auto rifle - I tend to look for full auto, which it has. Hammer Forged will up your range (again, not that necessary, but never bad), but also accuracy (good). Smallbore will increase the stability at the cost of backup shots in the mag, i.e. basically taking Feather Mag out of the equation as the mag will become the size of a bee's penis. Not that you would go for Feather Mag over Hammer Forged anyway. Get the third one.
Suros PDX-45
So the infamous Hawksaw’s sister PDX-45 is back and just in time for a pulse rifle nerf. Don’t panic though. Sitting in the Bad JuJu archetype (73-7) with an aim assist of 70 and equip speed of 71, it’s in for an 8% damage nerf, but that doesn’t actually mean much. As you can see in this chart over hits required to kill, the nerf will likely only mean one more shot in your burst will have to land.. ..sometimes: https://www.bungie.net/pubassets/48443/stk_full.jpg. Range is about to become a potential issue however (at least that’s what I got from the rather unfortunately formulated sentence put into the 2.1. patch post), so we’re looking for that and stability. This week’s rolls are:
1. Perfect Balance, Feather Mag, Hidden Hand, Snapshot, Rifled Barrel.
2. Hammer Forged, Appended Magazine, Secret Round, Lightweight, Hand-Laid Stock.
3. High Caliber Rounds, Feather Mag, Spray and Play, Speed Reload, Rifled Barrel.
Two amazing rolls, one really good one. The first roll will almost max out your stability, give you really good range and increase your aim assist. What's not to like? The second will completely max out your stability, turning the weapon into a laser, and Hammer Forged Makes up for the range loss that comes with Hand-Laid Stock. The third one isn't bad by any means, but compared to the first two, well, it's not interesting. I went with the first roll myself as it's damned near perfect. I could see an argument for the second roll being superior, but my reasoning comes down to the fact that as far as I can tell, pulse rifles will have their range nerfed. Consequently, I'd rather have a ton more range over a tiny bit more stability, even if it does max it out. Again, you probably can't go wrong with either, they are REALLY good.
Omolon Tuonela SR4
Omolon’s 37-48, VoC archetype scout has really strong overall stats with an aim assist value of 44 and an equip speed of 74. Although the sights aren’t amazing in my opinion, the gun makes up for it in overall feel and performance. This week’s rolls are:
1. Rescue Mag, Snapshot, Smallbore, Grenadier, Eye of the Storm.
2. Replenish, Quickdraw, Feather Mag, Grenadier, Underdog.
3. Replenish, Single Point Sling, Smallbore, Army of One, Exhumed.
A bit of a disappointment. Given how good this weapon can be, none of these rolls stands out to me. They're all decent, well-rounded rolls, but nothing to write home about. The first one might be interesting with a Rescue Mag-Eye of the Storm combo, but I'm going to keep mine until next week.
Omolon Kumakatok HC4
Back again after last week’s appearance, the Door Knocker (that’s what it apparently means) is a 32-74 hand cannon with decent aim assist (74) and equip speed (71). This week’s rolls are:
1. Luck in the Chamber, Snapshot, Oiled Frame, Firefly, Danger Close.
2. Luck in the Chamber, Snapshot, Rifled Barrel, Outlaw, Danger Close.
3. Grenadier, Quickdraw, Braced Frame, Firefly, Underdog.
Not bad! The first two rolls stand out to me. Luck in the Chamber is an excellent perk (unless it's on a sniper rifle and your opponent is using it, obviously). The first roll seems to me the given PvE choice, as LitC will give you bonus damage, Snapshot will make you ADS faster and Firefly will blow shit up. If you're looking for a PvP weapon, the second roll is outstanding. LitC for quicker kills every now and again, Rifled Barrel for a HUGE range increase, Outlaw to make up for the reload loss with the previous perk. So, PvE roll 1, PvP roll 2, toilet roll 3.
Häkke Herja-D
Left from last week we have the potentially great, potentially average Herja-D. Like all Häkke pulse rifles it fires four shots in one burst while pulling to the left. 50 aim assist and 45 equip speed is pretty meh, but a good roll can make up for it. This week’s are:
1. Crowd Control, Zen Moment, Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Reinforced Barrel.
2. Army of One, Counterbalance, High Caliber Rounds, Speed Reload, Reinforced Barrel.
3. Glass Half Full, Full Auto, Single Point Sling, Hand Loaded, Injection Mold.
Decent, at least. The first roll is average as the gun needs stability, but Zen Moment doesn't really seem to do that much for it. The other perks are decent, not outstanding. The second roll does have Counterbalance, but not much more. HCR does do a bit on pulse rifles as previously discussed, but in my opinion not enough to warrant taking it over the third roll. Glass Half Full isn't a sexy perk, but consistent. Full Auto and Injection Mold makes this an interesting weapon though. It will still pull to the left, but if you can handle it, well, you have a decent pulse rifle. I went with the third.
Suros JLB-42
Finally we move onto the biggest letdown of last week: The Suros rocket launcher siblings. Unfortunately this week isn't much better. The JLB-42 brings a 84-67 blast radius to velocity ratio, which is very good. This week’s rolls are:
1. Single Point Sling, Flared Magwell, Spray and Play, Javelin, Snapshot.
2. Heavy Payload, Speed Reload, Reactive Reload, Javelin, Lightweight.
3. Single Point Sling, Flared Magwell, Unflinching, Perfect Balance, Snapshot.
Again, a very underwhelming bunch of rolls. The second would be perfect if it had either Tracking or Grenades & Horseshoes, but Reactive Reload isn't up there. Still, I haven't played around with it that much to know what it can do on a rocket launcher, if anything, so for the sake of science, I grabbed it. I don't recommend you do unless you already have a bunch of really good rocket launchers though. Save it for next week instead.
Suros JLB-47
The previously reviewed 42’s bigger brother 47 rocks even more impressive stats, with a 84-74 blast radius to velocity ratio. That’s pretty much as good as it gets in terms of rocket launcher base values. Last week’s rolls were complete poop. This week brought:
1. Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Tracking, Perfect Balance, Lightweight.
2. Single Point Sling, Flared Magwell, Spray and Play, Perfect Balance, Lightweight.
3. Heavy Payload, Speed Reload, Feeding Frenzy, Perfect Balance, Quickdraw.
And the disappointments keep on coming. The base stats on this launcher are so good that the first option could work if you're desperate for a rocket in your pocket. I suppose the third roll would work decently if you like to run and gun as well. The problem is, the first time it was available months ago it came with Heavy Payload, Javelin and Grenades & Horseshoes. THAT's a roll. These are.. ..meh. Save it if you can afford to.
Available for next week are: Häkke Arminius-D, Häkke Zarinaea-D, Suros Dis-43, Omolon Thesan FR4 and the Häkke Jingukogo-D.
And there you have it. What did you guys think? Good? Bad? Did anyone get the Uffern? Let's hear it!

Edited by haphazardlynamed: 12/4/2015 11:58:38 AMRegarding the Pdx option 1 vs 2 I find, that max stability is actually a bad thing Given Destiny's high aim assistance, you're better off with a slightly less perfect stability Pulse rifles with horizontal recoil especially benefit So instead of taking time to pinpoint your laser onto guardian head, you have a quick mini-sweep shot, and aim assist handles the rest
-
I have one thing to say: Get the hell over yourself.
-
Omolon Uffern HC4 has the same rolls as kumakatok but has beast stats. Sorry to break it to you that do not have it but its considered to be on the "elite HCs" category. I ve been using it for a month now and i cant imagine what it can do after the HCs buffs. i.e 1 headshot+2 body shots= kill
-
1 ReplyIs the Dis 43 as good as 47?Can it come with full auto as well?
-
Can someone please tell me the sights for all of this week's SUROS Pdx rolls?
-
Great rundown. I've really enjoyed reading your reviews.

2 RepliesEdited by Mgamer GHz: 12/3/2015 1:38:34 PMpeople. don't underestimate the value of high caliber rounds, they are a snipers worse nightmare (average snipers ). I'm not talking about those camping, hard scoping, shoot you before you blink snipers either. I have last weeks PDX-45 with Unflinching, High Caliber Rounds, and Rifled Barrel. quite often i can get shot first and turn tide of the fight my way due to those high caliber rounds. No the stability is not perfect, but the stock aim assist and stability gets the job done just my opinion.
-
1 ReplyYou know your stuff Recoil Direction Equip speed Aim assistance Not many people mention let alone even know about these stats haha
-
I got the hand cannon with roll 2. Am very pleased. The other 2 rolls don't interest me.
-
1 ReplyI am just happy to stop buying these to simply get the weapon parts.....2500 glimmer for two or three parts is a high rate. I much prefer the new rate of 5 for 250.
-
4 RepliesI was really disappointed to find that the rolls are all the same for everyone... I really wish it was random to be honest.
-
1 ReplyEdited by MrMac: 12/3/2015 10:38:55 AMYou forgot Uffern HC4 hand cannon. I got the one with luck in the chamber and outlaw and rifled barrel.
-
7 RepliesEdited by Hado-3: 12/2/2015 4:30:05 PMUffern HC4 1. Luck in the Chamber, Rifled Barrel, Outlaw 2. Army of One, Extended Mag, Firefly 3. Zen Moment, Reinforced Barrel, Outlaw Edit Pvp 1., Pve all are good
-
3 RepliesUffern Omolon Hand cannon is amazing. The look, the perks I got, the gun is great. Probably my favourite hand cannon in Year Two. Actually, it's on Par compared to Fatebringer IMO. Unfortunately something tells me that's an unpopular opinion. -The guy with no house.

1 ReplyGreat work with the review man! Thank you so much :)
-
1 ReplySo happy the Kumakatok hand cannon has good rolls. I have an Uffern for quite a while. Thankfully, its perks are usable. (triple tap and grenadier) Now if the Tuonela scout rifle had better perks...
-
1 ReplyAnyone cashing in a 2 week old thesan fr4 this week? What's the rolls?
-
3 RepliesDIs 47 is a perfect roll you can't get any better with hammer forged full auto + smallbore.
-
2 RepliesI'm kind hoping for hand laid stock and full auto on the 47. Did you anyone pick this up full auto and small bore? If so how is the recoil pattern?
-
2 RepliesThat Scout is the greatest thing ever.
-
5 RepliesGrabbed PDX-45 Configuration A as soon as I saw it. No contest. The DIS-47... I also went with A. Kind of wish I went with C now, tbh, but I also feel like Full Auto is a wasted perk on most guns. Tuonela was a disappointment. Sharded on all but one character, in hopes that the Jury roll comes back eventually.
-
If you have an eirene rr4 saved up you can get one with faucon scope, reinforced barrel and last resort - basically maxed stability and last resort will make this my go to trials sniper
-
5 RepliesGood info but I disagree on the PDX advice. But, to each his own.
-
1 ReplyAwesome :)

7 RepliesWhen does armsday end? I can't pick mine up right now
