Let me just say i started the game a week ago, leveled from 1 to 40 and currently have a light level of 249. I've played plenty of shooters including CoD, BF, CSGO, killing floor, battlefront, and others. I've also played just about any mmo pvp out there, wow, war, swtor, aion, rift.
Now I just spent a solid 15 hours in the crucible trying to get better, trying to do the daily and the bounties really just to get better gear. I've must have played 40 matches and lost every single one! and what i see is the same thing, some dude with a hand cannon with a 5 kill streak one shooting everyone. Or my favorite getting OHKO by a melee when mine takes like 3 hits.... Or (and i swear this happened 10 min before i posted this) blowing my stormtrance and attacking this one guy that apparently had enough time to switch to his sniper rifle, and OHKO me in trance! completely wasted trance. And every single match I'm about mid way on the killed, around top 3rd or 4th.
I don't think i'm bad but seriously whats the deal! is pvp suppose to be this unforgiving to new comers? am I not suppose to go into the crucible or is there something for new people? I see people say gear doesn't matter but from what i've experienced thats a bold face lie! How do I progress if I need a certain reputation / legendary marks for gear, and every item i've won at the end of these matches have been considerably weaker than what i currently have?
I am blowing off steam here, but i'm also being serious. losing match after match after match for hours on end gets very discouraging. And I would love to get better, I'd love to actually enjoy pvp.

Are you gonna rage quit?

3 RepliesJust get good kid get good lol

Don't exaggerate your pvp playtime, cause it's bs either way. You're bad, get over it. You can be better if you want to put the time forth. You can't think you're gonna be good at this game overnight. Hell, I got a lot of playtime but I still don't even consider myself good, just average.

Best advice I can give you is stop making excuses why you got stomped on. You will not get better until you admit dying like a retard was your fault and your fault only. You need to learn from your mistakes. Also if you want to get better, start playing rumble and 3v3 playlists.

I see people constantly complaining about getting killed too much, yet the same weapons and subclasses are available to everyone. Have you ever thought maybe you're just not that good? These people killing you are probably just better. Destiny PvP is not worse, that's purely subjective, but it is harder. In CoD, I'd usually fluctuate between 1.5 and 1.6 KD, in Destiny, I fluctuate between 1.3 and 1.4. I find it harder to stay alive for longer kill streaks. My best is 21, I hit 25+ multiple times in CoD.

2 RepliesJust level a sunbreaker, dont need to be skilled to play with that :-)

2 RepliesIf a guy with a handcannons is beating your whole team, you must be playing in Year 1.

3 RepliesEdited by zJBombz: 11/26/2015 5:24:53 AMIt's the lack of a ranking system. New players like you come in and get smashed bye players like me. I really don't enjoy pub smashing due to it ruining the crucible for new players and I am not getting better. Therefor My team plays trials in hopes of finding swets. But once again we need to work up to 8 wins from less skilled players and continue playing the card out past 9 wins. Which once again causes problems for players due to my teams skill compared to theirs. It's almost 2016 Bungie get with the times, PvP needs a ranking system.

Edited by Pjosk85: 11/26/2015 8:03:59 AMHaha you litteraly almost lost every single game lately. I can understand your frustration. You make no sense tho, when you claim someone is oneshotting people with a hand cannon. Its not possible, unless you encounted a golden gun? A bladedancer can ohk if he melees u from behind with one of his abilities. There are also heavy weapons, called sword that can ohk. I think you need to experience the game more, so you get a better grasp of all the abilities and weapons. The game is alot of fun, keep playing!! Also: make 2 more warlocks, you can switch gear between the chars. Makes gearing up your character go much faster, since you can do the raids and nightfalls 3x per week!!

Try playing a different game mode bud . Mix it up abit .

Don't take adderall and play for fifteen hours without a five minute break every now and then, shit.

7 RepliesYou run into a room and see me at the opposite door. We start shooting each other and back out the door for cover. You stop shooting for I go out of sight. I continue firing for I know that, although you are now completely hidden, the shit mechanics will register hits as long as I don't stop shooting. You die and wonder why! That's Destiny PVP! That is what folk are bragging about k/d ratios. That is what they mean by 'Git gud skrub'. That is why you don't get how you were continually killed. Reason: you are playing pseudo-PVP on a poorly designed game with coned shooting grids that ignore the fact your target can no longer be hit and continues to register hits as long as you keep firing at where they should be. That's why you can't understand. It makes no sense! It's a stupidly designed system that 'getting good' simply means nothing! Play a better designed game if you want it to 'make sense', or, play Destiny and have a laugh. It's how I play PVP, purely for laughs. The reason I play Crucible at all: looking for a laugh harder than the last! They are there, just wait and see! Good luck...

Do you have a shotgun? Yes? Then how are you losing?!?!

2 RepliesThe skill gap is definitely real. The advantage of the right weapons and gear is huge But it's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it
-
Tip: try to use snipers. They help, trust me, *cough cough 1000-yard stare cough cough*

I don't think it's your teams fault you lost....

Play in classic mode

You're at a .8 kd so still need to try and break even but I'm not saying that to put you down just maybe need to get use to this slow style of pvp. On here my kd is 1.01 which I god awful. But on blackops 3 and almost every other CoD game and even battlefield with fast paced pvps my kd ranged anywhere from 1.4 to 2.5 and I could even play in ranked league play which put you up against the best players around the globe and made it to masters. It takes around 4 to 8 bullets to kill in cod depending on weapons (average I'd say) here it takes anywhere from 2 if you're lucky and have litc or 9 from pulses some take upto 12 but have high fire rate. Snipers don't 1 hit kill to the body even tho they're high impact and not fast firerate at all. Shotguns have good range but ppl complain because in reality all the maps are close quarters and ppl die from shotguns alot but still they take anywhere from 1 to 3 shots. It's all just slowed down and adjustment is required. Here you can't turn fast, you can't run fast, you can't have liberty of moving like a real try hard but more like a casual player

Gear definitely matters in Destiny pvp it's all about the perks, which you get by grinding RNG. My honest opinion? Stop playing Destiny now and trade it in towards the new CoD BO3. Pvp in BO3 is waayyyyyy better than Destiny. They aren't even on the same planet.

R6v2. All I'm saying.
-
Switch your weapons up and find what you're good with, this game is a ton of fun when you learn everything and all the counters

2 RepliesAm I the only one that really really likes the pvp??😁

Edited by cuzzybubba1: 11/26/2015 3:59:03 AMSnipers are a big problem in this game, the fact that you can quick scope within close range or around corners while hard scoping is a joke. Anyway, did you spec your subclass for full armor and what weapon are you using? Also, sometimes one can have a really really bad day in the crucible without doing anything wrong.
-
I don't usually say this but... Git gud scrub
-
Edited by KJiggy: 11/26/2015 3:55:21 AMA LOT of my 1v1 battles ends with me and my opponent killing each other, which imo, makes the pvp unplayable. No fps battle should end in a tie.

Yeah you just late, now that everyone has been grinding ib and too they have nearly mastered the mechanics leaving newcomers at a huge disadvantage. It goes for any online shooter and not everybody is cutout for it. Best to watch gamers on twitch for a while show you how it's done then get in there yourself and fight guardian.
