Has the nightfall lost its shine?
Since The Taken King's release I feel the nightfall just is not worth it anymore. Even after the update and alleged increase of rewards I am completing the nightfall only to feel disappointment at my rewards. My girlfriend is the same too. She has not received anything useful in weeks.
It seems as soon as you're running the raid regularly the nightfall becomes redundant.
I am 310 (thanks to iron banner) and she is 309.
I'm interested to see how your rewards have been and if you feel running the nightfall is worth it at all.
[Edit]: Some good responses on here with mixed feelings on the subject, but it really seems most of you don't see the point in the nightfall anymore once you reach around 305(ish) light.
I thought it was meant to be a tough challenge second only to the raid but I find often that the nightfall is easier than some heroic strikes.
It appears most of us are in agreement that the loot system is way too confusing and unbalanced.

Most of us would play the nightfall for exotics and now that most of us have all the good exotics. On top of that most of us dont care about a 310

Nightfall is really really bad. The rewards are usually a 301 legendary _________ . Just like the raid, there is no real point to do it. Destiny is not dead but it needs to start trying to find a way to bring people back to the game. Better rewards in the Nightfall would be a. huge shot in the arm for fans. Would this be hard to fix?

This is why they need to bring back the xp buff. That alone was enough reason to do the nightfall. Now once you are over 310 and have all the exotics it's pointless.

The nightfall is awful. I went ten weeks with 0 exotics across all three characters. Never had that kind of drought before then. Further, before ttk, I never complained about the rewards. The buff was the reward. I was happy with that, and beyond that, nightfalls were hella fun with the burns and what not. However, since ttk, burns have been few and nerfed to oblivion. The strikes are getting repetitive with no vanilla strikes in the playlist, and since the buff is gone, they are only about the reward, which is often pathetic and scrapped for materials.

Yes, and one of the bigger reasons being the absolutely garbage rewards. My last 4 NF in a row have been Ghost Shells, and only one of them over 300. I've got one at 320 and two at 312. Out of my last 9 Nightfalls, 6 rewards have been Ghost Shells. Its totally ridiculous and it needs to be fixed. I got better rewards before they "fixed" it. Maybe if by "fox", they meant against us, they did a great job. At least in Year 1 the exp boost made grinding the NF out, only to get a crappy reward, worthwhile.

I have not done any nightfall in about 3 weeks. Anything in ttk or event is plain not worth it since ttk came out. Haven't played in 2 weeks. Instill go on forums but just very disappointed with the rewards system in ttk

sword is not worth. This bug makes the blade dissappear when ammo is depleted. must be a mistake because when you sheath the sword the blade comes back. the blade should always look attached. Bungie has been fixing this, please hurry up.

Back then 3 was the max faction level for buying gear (yeah you could continue to level them up past 3 but only for faction packages), so I hit rank 3 with all factions across all of my characters making there no reason to continue past level 3 other than for shaders/ships so suppose. Taken King rolls around introducing rank 25 exotic class items for each faction, while simultaneously removing the one major source of rep gains. I'm at the point where I have every exotic (minus Ace of Spades), so without the reputation gain there is literally no reason for me to run it. After pouring all of my materials into Dead Orbit since the first week of the Taken King, I just unlocked the quest and exotic class item, the grind is real....

This is the problem with all their end game content since TTK. Whats the point if not going to drop highest level gear. I played every day for a year untill TTK came out and now the loot system is just so unbearable and with time gated content just dont see point till nxt dlc. Hopefully nxt dlc will fix loot system. I would grind if loot was guaranteed at least to be 1 light level higher than current gear but when drops at significantly lower than current gear whats the point.

I used to love the nightfall because even if you got a crap reward you still got the buff that lasts all week Now if you get a bad item reward you're stuck with 3 legendary marks and 30 minutes of your life wasted :/

Landed a 310 Obsidian Mind, a 310 Monte Carlo and 302 ghost shell... The first two were nice....The Ghost shell not so much. Personally, I'd be happier with the XP buff upon completion for the week...

How many can it rotate inbetween like 5 strikes? Bring them ALL in and add burns to them and people will do them again.
