      It last 26 seconds if you don't throw any hammers. Post like this have been all over the forums, and I'm sick of having to argue for the subclass. It's really not overpowered. Since i have to repeat myself over and over, here is my agument: The sunbreaker is a 100% super-focused class, meaning that the 6 bonus perks in every subclass meant to enhance gameplay are ALL super-focused. the hammers take skill to use at long range due to the arc and travel speed of the hammers. they are not always a one hit kill, many times, it will only partially damage an enemy if the hammer is a little off. everyone's data on time varies, and people tend to use the most extreme case for the hammer of sol lasting longer than it typically does. it can only achieve such a high time of being active if the player uses the perk where standing in a sunspot will increase duration AND the perk to increase duration. This means not using the cauterize perk to regen after kills with the hammers. people have discovered NUMEROUS ways to counter the super, making it not the tank that people seem to try to make it. Let's talk about other supers, since that has been a large argument. stormtrance, while activeley being used as a hammer of sol would be, lasts the LONGEST out of every super. Bladedancers have been over-nerfed (thanks to the same people whining about sunbreaker), however, they have the "super op" perk that sunbreakers do to regen health AND a perk to grant more super energy on kills. radiance is primarily used for self-rez and has no real offensive bonus in pvp, so we can leave that out. golden gun, you get 3-4 shots, which is less than your 7 hammers if you are constantly throwing them, but golden gun is 100% accurate, is not impacted by range, and has perks to not only enhance the super, but gameplay while NOT USING THE SUPER. the sunbreaker has ZERO perks to enhance out of super gameplay, unlike EVERY other class in the game. The nightstalker (for pvp) is pretty much an enhanced golden gun, so you can go back to golden gun for that argument. Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc are not duration-based supers, so we can leave those out entirely. Ward of Dawn is not an offensive super, so that too can be left out. This covers EVERY other super in the game Just keep in mind that the entire subclass is focused on the super, so there is not gameplay value outside of that such as shadestep, shouldercharge, increase grenade duration hunter wall-hacks, or chain lightning on grenade damage. The subclass SHOULD have a more powerful super than any other class, because the nature of the subclass is 100% for the super. arc blade was over-nerfed thanks to people whining about it in year one, the same will happen to Titans' only good subclass for pvp if this continues... Guys... Please... Calm down. I'm getting such an incredible amount of hate for this post. I know my opinion is unpopular, but that doesn't justify insulting me and sending hate messages. This is my case in favor of the sunbreaker, and I get the same responses. Either give a new piece of evidence to the table or respect the opinions of others. This never-ending debate will NEVER end, and I hope the rest of you can recognize that. We have differing opinions, and that's that. Oh, and I was talking to my friend and he mentioned that sunbreakers are NOT able to throw grenades or melee mid-super like MANY of the other subclasses. So there's an extra thing to think about Wow everyone! 200+ comments! thanks for the support on this pressing concern of some. You guys are great!

      • This is funny. Yeah hammer of sol lasts forever. If you just sit there and don't do anything. As soon as you throw a hammer it drops drastically. Mad that you can get more than 2 kills with it? Cool. I've seen people clear enemy teams running arc blade. Storm trance. I titan smash. 1 Nova bomb. And pulling radiance. Oh. Double kills also happen quite often as a gunslinger as well if they're grouped up together. Does the time on hammer need to be dropped? Yeah I'd agree with that. But don't just throw that single stat about hammers. Just like gunslinger it drops when you throw. I get 4 hammers, MAYBE 5 if I'm quick enough when I'm running hammer. And that's with the extra hammers perk. As far as range goes. Yes. It needs nerfed. But so does stormtrance. Before you start getting your dick in a knot do a complete stat sheet. Not just 1 single stat.

          • it only last 26 seconds if you dont trow any hammers (no bonuses active at this time) when you do trow hammers it only last about 10 seconds.

          • To everyone whining about Sunbreakers: You're forgetting that while a SB's isn't active (the vast majority of any given Crucible match), his/her subclass perk tree gives almost no helpful supporting perks such as Blink, Shadestep, or any ability to generate orbs for teammates. Let's also not forget that Titans in general have the worst melee range (and arguably, abilities) of the three classes.

                  • Don't get me wrong, Hammer of Sol needs a nerf. But seriously, some of the arguments against it (for the nerf) really don't make any sense. Comparing HoS to GG does not work. Shooting a GG shot does not drain any of the super bar. Whereas HoS does, and quite a bit.

                              • It doesn't matter if it doesn't last 26 seconds when you're throwing hammers. The point is that you don't have to scramble so much when you aren't throwing them to find someone. Pop hammer? Plenty of time to find someone to throw you first hammer at and still have plenty of time for 2 or 3 more. With GS or BD, you pop your super and it's a race against the clock to even get more than 1 kill before it runs out.
