Way to rank up without raid
Bungie, I'm probably not going to do the raid requiring 6 players, I play with my son and another friend. If you can't create a 3 man raid or something, give us a way to get to max level. I tried the nightfall yesterday and couldn't even put a dent in those level 42 villains. We're all stuck at 294-300.
Plus my son is 6 years old and I don't want him listening to the other kids who think it's cool to cuss all the time in your LFG.

Umm dude play iron banner. I was 296 before i played it and now im a 304. Im so serious. Part of that was just luck, but all you gotta do is keep playing.

There is really no point in leveling past 300 if you aren't going to raid

My [b][i][u]opinion[/u][/i][/b] is to join a friendly clan, that welcomes children(obviously not a group of old men) and are willing to help you walk through the game content. It's not that bad. Most of the people on these forums only badmouth each other for reasons beyond my understanding and partly because they lack the maturity to debate. So instead of a well worded response, you get them resorting to pointing out flaws in your grammar and such. I can promise you half of the people who correct someone else's grammar and spelling barely passed their highschool English. But yeah like I said find a good clan. Or if you can't I suggest simply finding a few relaxed and sensible gamers on the same system as yourself.

5 RepliesEdited by Cooper: 11/19/2015 7:29:00 AMThe nightfall light requirement is 280, if all of you were 290 and above getting any higher won't help you much as this is not how the light system in Destiny works. Destiny scales you down, that's why you still take damage and can get killed by a level 2 dreg on patrol in the cosmodrome. For the nightfall make sure you have the right weapons equipped, this week it's all about solar weapons and solar subclasses, maybe use a defender Titan. All my characters are 310 and over depending on their equipment, yet it's not that they can easily walk through the nightfall. The game by the way is T rated, don't expect Bungie to cater to your special needs just because you approve your six year old son playing it. You don't ask AMC to take out the gore from The Walking Dead series just because you like to watch it with your kid.

In fact, don't call it "Bungie's LFG." It's the community's LFG. Bungie excluded matchmaking on certain activites, and made voice chat optional, for the very reasons you don't want your kid playing with randoms. If you use LFG, just put a note saying to keep it clean. I guarantee someone will help out. [Spoiler]#4 Nightfall is hardly worth it, in all honesty.[/spoiler]

IB give 310 and 320 stuff. It will be slow as it only comes out every 5 weeks but is is another route to max light. NF does give 305 Gear also. NF are even slower.

My son is 12 and I strictly limit his online interactions, be they fire team lobbies or use of third party websites like this one. Playing this and other games has only deepened my concern for his exposure to the overwhelming number of douche-bags that frequent these games and forums. Unfortunately, it does limit his ability to experience certain aspects of the game and he just has to deal with that reality. All I can say is maybe you could try and find a clan or group of gamers that meet your moral standards and integrity. We exist, it's just a matter of connecting w/ the right people.

Alright inb4youtellmenottotellyouhowtoliveyourlifeorhowbadyouareatdestiny A. If you are 290-300 light you really shouldn't be having much trouble with the nightfall unless you have doggy doo weapons. B. If your son is 6 years old he really shouldn't be playing a game that is 15+. If you use Destiny as a way to spend time with your son, play Minecraft with him or something like that if you don't already.

The nightfall is only a 280 light activity at you light levels you should have no problem!!! Yes it will be easier 300+ light level but where your at right now it shouldn't be too hard work.
