Update, 5 pm, 19th:
Did a checkup. I have rewatched a game this morning. There were 60 kills with primary weapons:
Scouts: 3 kills
Automatic Rifles: 4 kills
Puls Rifles: 53
Well...
I'm a PvP-Player. I don't think I'm a bad player, neither am I the best. And actually I don't complain about OP/Nerf stuff and so. But what's going on right now in the crucible (Iron Banner) is really ridiculous. You have literally no chance at all against people with pulse rifles when you use other weapons. Therefore: Everybody has to use it. No diversity at all. And I hate to play pulse rifle.
I hope there will be a better balancing soon, otherwise it will kill my fun.
Additionally: 4 Errorcodes in 1 hour. This kills my fun too.
e.1/ It's "funny" to see that people have no culture of debate and have to flame. Sorry guys, you can't provoke me with that.
e.2/ For today, it has killed my fun and motivation. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow again.
e.3t/ It's a new day. Let's have a look.

You have to be within a guns ideal distance. Autos will wreck pulse in close. But getting there is very tricky... And then you have to deal with blink shotgun, sticky grenades, supers and maybe even a fusion rifle. So... Yeah pull out your scout or pulse and get to some team shooting. Wish it was still control :(

Edited by BetrayedRhino85: 11/18/2015 6:51:33 PMI've actually had more problems in IB (and Crucible period) with all of the Snipers lately. At least more so than PR's. Entire teams sitting high up on a perch and picking off the other team...sometimes right upon spawning. I've seen way more 'scopes in the distance' than ever before, it seems. Shotgunners can be annoying but at least usually you see them or their 'red' before they blast you and you have time to swap to your own SG (if toting one) and can square off mano a mano or SG a SG. There's some truly, amazingly talented snipers out there but there's also an equal amount of 'snipe-a-non-aware-target-and-still-manage-to-only-hit-them-in-the-leg...and kill them' kind of snipers out there as well. I know I can go the sniping route as well, but for my own personal tastes, I like the rush of being up close and personal and in the thick of things-- whether that's using a shotgun, fusion rifle or sidearm. Sitting back and picking off players isn't really that exciting to me and I'm not too worried about the whole K/D thingy (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). But a lot of players enjoy that and that's completely cool for them. You should play in whichever way brings you the most enjoyment and helps your team out the most. But that's what Sniping is and you can't complain about someone doing what they are 'supposed' to do, especially when doing with a high degree of skill. And let's face it, there's some pretty dang talented players out there, when it comes to a sniper rifle in their hands. They've got my respect...and probably head in their sites too!

Thats how pvp has always been lol If it wasn't fusion rifles then it was shotguns then autorifles to handcanons, now its pulse rifles :\

9 RepliesUse meta or quit bitching ... I dont mean this in an ass type of way. Bungie has stated they like the "league of legends" style of balancing. They like rotating certain weapons and bringing out strong/weak stuff. So you kinda gave to get use to it cuz it seems how they wanna do things. I just grab my flavor of the strongest weapon and use that. Yes it sux but perfect balance sucks more and rather have this.

Scout rifles are just as viable as pulse rifles. I admit that I am using nirwen's more than anything else but I also can't tell you the last time I played a crucible match.
-
I can sort of agree...except by the far, the most dominant player I ran into last night was using a HC. I'm very average so I've gravitated to PRs, for now, until they inevitably get nerfed (which will leave scout rifles as the only primary to not get nerfed yet, lmao). I dunno why anyone thinks PvP in Destiny even CAN be balanced. I only play it for the lulz, never taking it very seriously.
-
I'm with you man!! I play HC since day one and it really frustrates me that I just can't use them properly right now!!!!! Even in pve, as you constantly run out of ammo! I use a pulse as well, but as I just can't really enjoy it, it really draws me away from this game... What were they thinking!? I mean, what did they gain from that other than frustrated players...

4 RepliesAll they needed to do was weaken Thorn's DoT and fix TLW extra damage bug when ADS. Make Hawkmoon not stack for a oneshot. Now Hand Canon's are destroyed lol...... :(
-
I main a pulse but shotguns and snipers seem 2 be fairly effective... And i see just as many right after they take me down...
-
BO3 is pretty damn balanced. I love destiny but it's broken. May always be broken. So until it is fixed (if it ever is) I'm gonna play other games. It's actually a good time for games. Plenty of options for any type of gamer. Just my 2¢

6 RepliesEdited by Barrier: 11/18/2015 5:34:50 PMHas anyone ever noticed the forums become filled with nerf posts & other garbage when Destiny is at its lowest?
-
next sidearms with be the go to thing.

2 RepliesNo you're wrong I was rocking no land beyond like a pro yesterday was having a lot of fun
-
Iron pulse rifle. Did you not know they are the new hand cannons which before that replaced the auto rifle power weapon. Would be great if we were not forced into using the same things and all weapons were equally as deadly. After all is this not the kind of reasons why you got rid of gally because everyone had that as the go to
-
Go try Hawkmoon. But not on longer maps unless you just play close. It's not the rifle. It's the damage drop off that makes everyone want to use pr's. I can 2 burst kill a guardian standing by inside tree, from outside tree on Bannerfall. Thaaaaats a little ridiculous.
-
Only way you can balance primary weapons, is to give them all the same exact time to kill.
-
18 RepliesFirst the assault rifles were crazy. Then pistols were crazy. Now it is the pulse rifles. I wonder what will be next?
-
3 RepliesYelps out 95% of people are using pulse rifles. Also It seems the game is trolling me. If I run a sniper, everyone is shotgun rushing. I switch to a shotgun and then I keep getting domed from across the map. But I take it all in good fun, so so far I am having fun.

Edited by Fridén: 11/18/2015 5:50:53 PMIf you actually look at the TTK numbers, with the exception to maybe the high ROF pulses, it is extremely balanced. Medium rate of fire pulse rifles have a TTK of .97 (if you are running max armor) which is actually slower than all auto rifles. The reason why everybody uses them is because of there versatility. They barely have any damage drop off, so they are effective and medium and long ranges. Smart pulse rifle users will keep the battle in the areas were they excel. Close engagements facing an auto rifle, (assuming players of equal skill) auto rifle wins that battle. The reason why few people use them though is because the damage drop off is intense. People want a weapon that excels in the areas of it's strengths, and is still good were it is suppose to be weak. Pulse rifles, although they do struggle in close range engagements, are still good enough if you are a skilled player facing someone who is average.
-
You think this is no diversity where were you during HoW
-
I use a max fire rate auto rifle and usually end up end up at least top three soooo
-
Run Cocytus or last extremity
-
In regular crucible I have no problem dropping pulse rifle users with my mida....but IB is another story :( #FreeMida
-
2 RepliesI run hc. Got a finnalas peril drop :)
-
3 RepliesThat is the current meta i personally prefer it but i can see why people are annoyed. I think the range of guns have improved though.. rather than 3 hand cannons theres now alot more pulses. Bad juju Red death Time to explain Ib pulse Trials pulse Hawksaw The suros pdx one Spare change That luymidia or w.e its called Also probably more as well but those are a few. Its not a massive range but a step in the correct direction imo

1 ReplyI actually feel that everything is quite balanced right now. The only thing bungie shouldn't have done is nerf handcannons twice, first by nerfing the exotic ones (that needed a nerf) and second by nerfing hcs in general. That last one was not necessary at all and makes hcs all inferior choice. Do feel like I have a decent chance at killing someone with a pulse rifle when I use e.g. a scout
