Now many have played the beta and/or the early access version I believe it's possible to return a verdict already. In my opinion, all modes except for Supremacy and Walker Assault are pretty boring. Some are enjoyable (like Blast) but the single player battles and Fighter Squadron, for instance, are really mind numbing imo. And essentially the game only features 4 maps, which are extended or cut in some game modes. Sometimes there are some new elements but obviously the maps are all built from the same objects on each planet. And considering the only modes worth playing are Supremacy and Walker Assault and there's no single player campaign, this game really lacks content. Graphics and sound design are great
the heroes' voices and dialogues are beyond cringeworthy though
The power up system is weird and kinda takes the immersion (it's a really immersive Star Wars experience overall though). And 11 weapons is not a very high count.
And when they said you could customize your char, I thought of some kind of character creation (not complex though, just choosing race, gender, physique and have some face and hair options) and not just some skins.. (btw EA could easily make some microtransactions for those, a little afraid of that)
It's obvious what audience they are targeting: Star Wars fans who like to have a nice, casual Star Wars experience once in a while. I feel like this game is fun to play every now and then, but if you want a serious alternative to other competitive shooters, this is not the game you're looking for...

I played the beta a lot less than i would have liked, so i never really got the chance to get a grasp of the game. It seems fun, but i can't see it being an amazing game. Take away the star wars facade and i don't think it would be anywhere near as popular, but that is the main appeal of it, to me at least. That said i will pick it up, maybe not day 1 but soon. I think it'll be a fun game to play around in, but i don't think it'll be a game where i'll invest a solid amount of time into. Having no campaign is a big negative for me, but i really have only seen a small fraction of the game. It could surprise me.

I liked it, I bought it, I'm happy. Very fun, casual shooter. None of the stress or rage that some other fps games cause. You've played Destiny, and you complain about this being "mind-numbingly boring"? Really?!? Really really?!?!

1 ReplyI was looking for something to play causally, this will do

11 RepliesI see a lot of people saying that Battlefront 2 has more content. I played the hell out of BF2 and loved it but I feel that those opinions are coming from nostalgia. While it's true that BF 2 had features like galactic conquest, single player campaign, instant action, etc. in reality, BF2 had only two game modes. Domination and space battles. If BF2 was released today, I don't think it would be received well. This new Battlefront has far more game modes that are different from each other. The difference between the two games is just a sign of the times. Gamers were easier to please back then and we never had a sense of entitlement.

4 RepliesYou can't compare it to bf2. It's not battlefront 3. It's a completely new game with literally nothing to do with bf2.

2 RepliesI have to wait to Thurs (UK release date)

Picked it up, but haven't been able to put down Fallout 4 yet. :)
-
1 ReplyI haven't played it but 11 guns sounds pretty boring
-
4 RepliesEveryone that thinks its supposed to be a super competitive shooter has never played the first two battlefronts
-
I love it I really do, only issues I have is that it definitely needed more map variety and because of the whiny community the empire was nerfed to shit. Han Solo can shit on the empire so hard it crazy
-
I love it.
-
3 RepliesI've played 1 bot match so far, I wish that Empire armor customization went farther. Like, paint jobs or something
-
I think I'm going to play it for awhile until it starts slowing down, then give Fallout a go.

2 RepliesPreordered

1 ReplyWent 40-0 on walker assault in the beta, same for my first game today.... Gonna be an easy game
-
2 RepliesPlaying all the modes tonight add me on ps4 to get this party going psn best_mary

1 ReplyYou are correct. This Battlefront title is not about competition. It is about stepping away from the real world and getting lost in the galaxy of Star Wars.

7 RepliesEdited by VII: 11/17/2015 2:23:09 PMI think it's extremely casual, it's meant to be a fun, stress-relieving game. and it succeeded in that sense. it's nothing new or imaginative or difficult, , just fun.

11 RepliesLike battlefront 2 had a lot more? People expect too much
-
6 RepliesPlayed for like an hour and put it down already. Quiet disappointing and wasn't expecting much going in either.
-
12 RepliesFace it without the STARWARS theme that game would flop. Actually it could fare better since it wouldn't have any expectations... Especially for one like a battlefront reboot. I would say that game would "die" fast but destiny has taught me that there will always be that annoying following that will defend that game.
no new or unique combat mechanics. You are paying for the skin. Content wise and prearranged selling of "dlc" should be unacceptable for 2015. They should have added to pandemics masterpiece, not strip it and use their own engine.

I'm pretty sure many would have preffered a remake of the original and online matchmaking with NO progression systems (like before) and people would have been much happier. Not to mention give the young a chance to play pandemics battlefront. Poor kid the other day said this was his first battlefront
Love it. Battlefront is best

I played the beta, and I really liked it, the single player was fun and the walker assault was really fun too, I haven't played the early access yet but from what I've heard it sounds pretty good. 9/10

1 ReplyI haven't played it yet, but reading the comments it doesn't to live up to Battlefront 2. Really all they needed to do was finely polish and expand BF2, add online multiplayer, expand the maps and get the gunplay on the same level as Destiny.
