Anybody feel trapped by pulse rifles?
Right now they feel like the strongest weapon type out there and I'm sure most would agree.
I just don't really like them, but to feel like I can win a firefight in pvp I need to use one.
What are some of your primaries you have had success with in pvp that are NOT pulse rifles? I am struggling to find weapons I like since TTK came out.

I've been having a lot of success with scout rifles too actually... like MIDA, Tlaloc, and the Suros Dis-43. The roll that the Gunsmith had available for the Suros last week was incredible.

Exotic auto rifles. Zhalo is great though I like Monte Carlo a bit better for crucible. U just have to play to your weapons strengths. U don't want to be caught out at longer ranges with them but if u can get in close to mid and keep these things firing head shots then they tear people apart. Scout rifles can also be great but u still have to play to the weapons strengths and keep your distance. U just have to know how to pick your battles and most weapons can do well. If your weapon is going to be at a disadvantage in a gunfight then get the hell outta there and create a better situation for yourself.

This is the most balanced that PVP has ever been in destiny.

They are by far the best choice atm. But i imagine come december pulse rifles will awful hand cannons will get Nothing done to them, autos will be good and scouts will be god tier. Then in april scouts will get nerfed autos will get buffed again and hand cannons will be good. Then in september autos will be god tier hand cannons will be great scouts will be ok and pulse's will be unusable.

I started out with MIDA (the stagger throws off the guy trying to shoot you) and a couple of pulses (stranger's rifle, spare change). Then I discovered Hawksaw (I know, a pulse, sorry). I haven't tried it myself, but was getting taken out by Hawkmoon a good bit.

1 ReplyYeah I was trying out pulse rifles because they're so good apparently in PvP, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. Finally went back to good ol Hawkmoon and playing alright with it, simply because I'm used to the hand cannon playstyle. Aaaaand rng decides to reward me with Eyasluna, perfect!

Spacing is a huge part of gun play. Using a scout? Don't try to engage red death users from mid range, man! I mean that thing pre-buff could hang with thorn at mid range. Be aware and engage from farther away. Using an AR or HC? Gotta get a little closer to win gunfights. The guns will work for you if you don't try to do things with them that aren't meant to be done

My go-to primaries have been the Jade Rabbit and Monte Carlo in y2. Been experimenting with Zhalo Supercell and Nirwen's Mercy some, but don't like them as much. Still haven't found a HC I like using though

Ive always kind of used them. But if I was to go with something else it would be a solid hand cannon or maybe one of the gunsmith weapons. It seems like some of the gunsmith autos have higher impact and ive been killed by them alot in crucible. More than shotguns of late. Maybe look there? Suros, hakke.

Got a fairly good KD this time around and I'm a an average PVP player. Play to your strengths. Mine seems to be locking down the main lanes from a distance and flanking. P.S. Finally rolled a decent scout for PVP now.

They need to bring other weapons up to pulse rifles quality. But I doubt that will happen.

Pulse rifles seem to be emerging as the new y2 meta weapon. wait 6 months and they might re-balance it, depending on how much money we throw at the screen
