I'm going to keep this rant as civil as possible. I'm just here to express my concerns for the game mode, not to throw a tantrum.
I'm going to set my points of defense before I continue any further:
• I have been playing since Year One and the launch of trials
• Trials mathematically only allows around 10%-20% of the player-base from accomplishing a flawless run
• Since the beginning of Trials of Osiris, there have been weapons and abilities that triumph others (eg. Thorn, Bladedancer, Pulse rifles, Sunbreaker, etc.)
This post is going to be a complaint about the Lighthouse and the requirements to get there. I have attempted many times to get there, but could not accomplish it. I have the skill for it and the experience for it. So why can't I get there? This is what I'm going to explain.
There are three main variables (two if you are a literal person) that can stop a persons run to the Lighthouse:
1. Your skill
2. Your teammates
3. Skill of your opponents
But I'm not here to talk about myself. I'm here on behalf of everyone who has not reached the promised land yet (especially if you have been fighting from the beginning).
Take in my third point of defense. The reason why I don't give an exact percentage is because of the number of variables there are to calculate, so I do not have the free time to come up with an exact equation, but I have thought it through and realized that is where the number falls. You do not need to be a mathematician to realize this is where the number falls. If you know, the number of players who have completed a raid is at 17% (PlayStation Trophy stats). This stat can carry over to Xbox Live due to the Law of Large Numbers. So it is safe to say that the number of players who have obtained a flawless card is around that range. It could even be less than 10%.
I'm proposing that the flawless requirement should be removed and make it that players only require nine wins regardless the number of loses. You will only get access to the chest if you go flawless. This will:
• Increase the percentage of the player-base to go to the Lighthouse
• Keep players playing even if they get a loss on their card
• But this will still give players incentive to get a flawless card, since they are getting a bonus reward by accessing the chest if a flawless run is accomplished
• Keeping the Lighthouse available for non-flawless players and the chest to only flawless players will separate those that want the grimoire and to explore the place from those that want the rewards
Bump if you agree

1 ReplyThis is what happens when whiny liberals are allowed to run classrooms and create more whiny liberals. I do t care if you payed just as much as the rest of us. I've yet to reach the lighthouse but I'm WORKING AND COMPETING trying to get there! Stop feeding the "give it to me because I don't wanna earn it" generation. God help y'all if the shit ever hits the fan and you actually have to fend for yourselves.
-
I thought about that, maybe with 9 wins, you get to go to mercury and such, but the less loses you have on your card the better gear you get.
-
I've never been to the light house. I'd rather it be the something that is hard to get then something everyone and their grandparents can get.

You're only missing out on the grimiore if not the chest Watch a video if you want to see it

Lol many tears. Git gud.

The fun thing about the lighthouse is seeing no people there... To feel you have accomplished something really hard and for few people... Stop crying cause you can't get there... It's not meant for everyone... Only for true skilled players...
-
I wouldnt even play trials if it was that easy there would be like no -blam!-ing point
-
I have never been flawless, my records is only 3 without losing (My teammates aren't always great because I have no friends on Xbox 1, they are still on 360, so I must use lfg). However, this does not make me a butthurt scrub. The lighthouse is for exceptional PVP players, not so so players that can't do well in trials without being carried. The lighthouse rewards should only be claimed by those exceptional players. This is what MAKES THE LIGHTHOUSE SPECIAL. Without it being for exceptional players, there would be no reason to shoot for it anymore. It would turn into the nightfall of pvp. Sorry for the long post, and please try to keep the salt from reaching your brain.
-
For some people(myself included)it's the challenge of getting to lighthouse that makes the whole thing fun and so much more rewarding.
-
What, the actually hell. The lighthouse is the only reason trials is ENDGAME PvP . If there wasn't a special place to get rewards or would be just like the ib. Think about it.
-
Then what's the point of going to the lighthouse? The chest is the only thing that makes it relevant
-
Bump because some of us don't have the grimorie cards
-

-
What's is the point to go to the lighthouse if there isn't access to the chest, literally the only thing there.
-
I don't see why you would want to get there if there's no loot. It's like me asking to get to the end of the hard raid Just because I can't get there legit. I don't care I'm just saying it's pointless.
-
Nope. You should truly earn your visit to the lighthouse.
-
The only way to tell if your an og is if you have beta and or sign of founders with 700+ hrs, you could have all these pieces of gear but only have a 100 hrs aka casual.

Go back to running for president, Bernie.

Edited by Osprai: 11/3/2015 2:05:44 AMWhat's the percentage of players who have covered the raid? It's an endgame activity. It isn't for everyone

16 RepliesTrials shouldn't allow supers. This way we keep the core gameplay. Without supers and it all comes down to skill and tactics and teamwork.
-
I'll probably never go flawless
-
You clearly DON'T have the skill or experience to get there since you haven't been there.
