EDIT: To be fair, I really don't give a shit if you can get a fking year 2 Gally from doing ToO. I went to the Lighthouse before, I'll go again. Check my Titan for proof. I could switch the others over, but it's really not that important to me. I'm sure it bothers some of the l337 PvPers here that someone as shitty as me in the Crucible can go to the Lighthouse. I may have been carried, but so what? You think that it really matters in the grand scheme of things? Most of this was a post was the result of boredom and the inability to go to sleep. It was fun. There sure are some people here who could learn what it means to be able to have your own opinion. The ONLY thing that actually bothers me is that you will be able to buy ToO gear. That's it. I know there won't be any elemental primaries. Even though the ToO weapons were removed from the Armory, I can still view some of them and know very well that they are not elemental. And last but not least, those that go undefeated and reach the Lighthouse, congrats, you deserve your rewards.

I mean really. One of the main reasons people Raid is for the Adept primaries. Sure there's more to it than that, but it's not like you can get Raid tier weapons and Armor anywhere else, right!? Wrong. ToO will have armor and weapon drops up to 320. Oh, you say that's no big deal? Have you seen the Armory? They're also getting adept primaries.
Eff this. I'm pretty sure that if Bungie doesn't stop trying to force us to play the game how THEY want us to play it, coupled with the fact that they pander to the PVP community, they won't see year three.
Edit: one of my biggest issues is that you will be able to buy ToO gear. You cannot buy Raid gear, so why be able to buy ToO gear?
Also, please remember that Destiny started off as a wannabe MMORPG. Now it's focus has shifted to be more balanced between PvE and PvP. This cannot be. This game will implode if they continue to try and be CoD and WoW, at the same time.

Since when can you buy ToO gear without first achieving some measure of success in the activity? It's like being upset that there are people who have raid gear who have never got further than the Sisters.

Stop complaining pvpers deserve some kind of end game gear plus they don't have elemental damage the adept versions are the ones with higher light and the ones you get from the lighthouse the regular ones are at 280 stop bitching

1 ReplyI don't understand. you can raid and get 320, and you can ToO and get 320? it makes sense, not everyone that is good at pve is good at pvp, and not everyone that is good at pvp is good at pve. That's how it's always been in Destiny from how I saw it. they provide ways for both pvp and pve to get items

Obtaining high light level gear in KF will give you an advantage over other players in a level advantages enabled playlist like Trials. Why is it fair that people that want to solely play PvP are then forced to play PvE in order to remain competitive, but unfair when the rolls are switched around? Yes, you'll be able to buy ToO gear, but it will be sold at a 280 light value, just like every other piece of purchased gear in the game, ATM. If you want stuff up to 310, you had better win a few matches. If you want stuff up to 320, you had better win 9 without a loss. If you have such a concern over the PvP aspect, I must ask. Why would it make a difference to you if you only play in PvE? Is there going to be some sort of tactical advantage or competitive edge that a player wearing ToO gear will bring to the raid that you will not also be able to bring?

The guns will most likely excel in pvp alone. Calm yo tits bro. Also my assumption is only flawless people get 320 gear, sort of like how you only get 320 gear when you surpass a hurdle in the kings fall hard raid. The hurdle being bosses.

2 RepliesIs kinda funny considering PvP as a whole is and will always be unbalanced. It is an aspect that brings flavor to it for sure, but truly makes it hard to talk skill. Sure, we have the usual plethora of outrageously talented gamers here in Destiny, even PvP, but... to be honest.. if you've got a decent pulse and reasoning skills/ability to point and shoot you'd be okay in most game modes. The "metas" in this game are almost enforced, used to the point of people insisting weapons need nerfing/buffing when they may not... It's a shitfest.

I will preemptively declare I haven't finished the raid and my Grimoire is modest, at best, but I have two eyes and access to YouTube. Also, don't mix up your expectations of the game, to be an MMORPG, with the reality of what it is, a reasonably expansive FPS with MMORPG qualities.

However, buying trials gear is acceptable because there is a Vendor for ToO as a whole. There is no raid vendor because that is simply not a raid thing, you know? There could POSSIBLY be, but it would be pointless. They clearly need to tweak the drop rate from what I've been hearing though haha.

Adept primaries won't have their own element or anything, just get a different paint and come stock with Last Resort a la Will of Light. They see it as a way for PvPers to stay relevant, and as a player of both I'm glad for it.

Hate to burst your bubble. But. Adept primaries do not exist anymore. It's been announced by a few Bungie employees. There will be more primary weapons with elemental damage.

Trials isn't getting elemental primaries you moron. And I'm estactic trials will drop high level gear since I like the way it looks (and I won't have to infuse it much) and you can circumvent the shit raid drops

Adept trials gear = harrowed raid gear. Means higher attack / defence / stat values. There won't be a burn on adept weapons like trials 1.0. And as someone with zero interest in trials, I'm 100% behind trials gear dropping at, or up to, 320. It would be stupid if it was otherwise. But I expect that the 320 gear won't be purchasable and will require a trip to lighthouse or a very lucky end of game drop. Which is fair.
