No. The advertising was just a complete lie. Chief and Locke aren't really even rival throughout the story. Made it appear that a possible fight was looming between them and they only interact twice.
Other than that, it's decent. Haven't gotten into MP yet, but I'm sure it will be similar to 4.

They fist fought each other and he broke Chiefs visor.

I forgot about that. That was the climax of the story for me. Everything after that felt forgettable. Shoot this enemy, blow this thing up, run through this path. My opinion though.
