These zero light masks are clearly pay to win
You guys are crazy...
These masks do not at all benefit you in any way, they are solely here to HAVE FUN
They dropped my 308 warlock to 278, I'm not an expert but I don't think I have an advantage over other gamers
You can buy legendary masks for silver... Again it is still RNG based, and you get nothing to give you an advantage, you can get the mask anyway from filling your candy bag
AND! The glimmer and weapon upgrade consumables? Just shut up... Black wax idles, ether seeds, etc? We already get them ALL THE TIME! How is that pay to win? Weapon upgrades? They don't upgrade your perk tree that much faster and you can buy them for DIRT CHEAP from the gunsmith... How is that pay to win?
This festival is purely for fun and that is it...
If you honestly think this is pay to win you are absurd
Have fun and enjoy the game like it was made for, so many people forgot that THAT is what video games are for

People have been freaking out about the silver system. So far, it has in no way been pay to win. I can choose to buy emotes or masks because I'm a grown ass man and if I choose to use my money that way it's my decision, it doesn't not, in any way, affect other players. I want to collect all the masks and so far I'm just missing two I believe. Idk why people are so upset buy this stuff.

Every time I see some one wearing a skull mask I say to my self. I wonder how much that kid paid to look cool while they AFK in at the tower?

Whatever. I soloed Kings Fall with my Oryx mask because all the enemies were scared of me. Then I got to Oryx, he laughed, and gave me candy and gear before floating off.

I don't think that it is pay to win. HOWEVER, micro-transactions in any triple A release is utterly unacceptable. This goes for ANY release from a big developer regardless of it's prestige. Micro-transactions only are acceptable in free mobile games, and when even there they are horrible. These charges have no reason to be in a game that already costed players $140 ($80 for legendary edition). Bungie does not need any more money than they already made for Destiny as a whole. The problem isn't the masks, it's the silver for me. That's just my opinion.

4 RepliesI wish at the end of the Festival they would let us do a quest/mission to obtain something we can use to "infuse" one mask of our choosing into one of our helmets. This would give one mask the exact stats of the helmet, but would look exactly like the mask! Once per character please, I want all my guys to have something cool like that. I gotta say I was disappointed to see that it wasn't a transmog type of mechanic that would allow us to Raid and play the game (besides base Crucible) without dropping our Light. I want to be able to kill Oryx AS Crota! Sweet irony!

Yup. Your not " winning" anything but your own completion award. I didn't pay for anything but was happy to get some free market cash. Which gave me one of the new emotes for nothing.
