Spartans' motion tracker reveals close range targets.
Guardians' does not.
Spartan gets in CQ and runs circles around Guardian
*guardian down*
Guardians don't seem to have a better strategy than space magic and relying on their ghost to save them.
Ghosts can't revive if they are destroyed. A Spartan AI could fight with the ghost while the Guardian and Spartan fight.
This is Spartan II vs Year 1-2 Guardians

UPDATE: Guardians have motion tracking, thermal and night vision, Ghosts cannot be destroyed easily unless they are extreme firepower or paracausal forces. Guardians can react to invisible lasers.
-
you say that they could fight the ghost, but you forget that there arent many weapons that could actually destroy a ghost. most evidence in the story points to needing a darkness type weapon to be able to destroy one.

Spartan hears "clang" then dies in a split second from a hammer from across the map. Spartan thought he could kill the guardian only to find out hammer Titans are gods that take no damage! Enough said!

1 ReplyEdited by Afawafa: 11/13/2015 3:20:56 PMWell, Light probably means that Guardians possess better technology than Spartans, even if that technology may be borrowed. Reality bending weapons and defenses are usually more high tech than plasma/ballistic/energy weaponry and energy based defenses. Gameplay wise, what do you mean guardian radar doesn't reveal close range targets? It most certainly does.

1 ReplyLike I said once before. Against an average Spartan, a Guardian would most likely win due to their abilities to use Light. It is unconfirmed if a Spartan would win in hand-to-hand combat as guardians have had yet to prove their full CQC strength. Most likely though, Titans and probably Hunters would be the main ones winning at all. Against Chief though, it's safe to say he'd win in a 1v1 against 99% of all the Guardians.
I also find it funny whenever people mention Spartans being stronger to due augmentations. They had to be genetically altered in order to fight aliens whereas Guardians didn't. They got some clothing, a gun, and go out and kill gods with a miniature yet self-learning toy living in their backpack. Satire aside, they're fictional characters in two different universes. Quit trying to turn things into Marvel/DC
7 RepliesI still think as long a a guardian had their super they might stand a chance, aka fist of panic or n00b bomb (not sure about shadowshot) then the spartan could possibly armor lock and survive, maybe but if there was not any space magic involved then a spartan two, probably even a four, but maybe not a three could kill a guardian, I would much rather have an AI than a ghost however...sorry warlocks you would get destroyed one way or another, titans would try to out tank a spartan...so, a hunter now the cunning and witty hunter would try, and try again to out juke a spartan, however I think a hunter would easily juke out a spartan two, the spartan four could probably keep up...although no guardian could take on the mighty 117. While op says Spartans would run circles around a guardian, this isn't entirely true, a spartan two is the badass tank that would just soak up bullets and rko the guardian, while a spartan four is more agile and less tanky and would run circles around a guardian then shank them as their head is spinning.

6 RepliesIn the game theory episode it was found that the spartan army is extremely durable, but a connection severing can end any spartan with 1 melee
-
1 thing I know for definite 1 v 1 in a fist fight a spartan will crush a guardian.
-
3 RepliesA spartan might beat one guardian. But, guardians are an unlimited resource, and as I understand it, Spartans are definitely not. Faced off against an endless army of undead warriors, Spartans just can't kill enough of em fast enough to stay ahead. Only solution: detonate the Dreadnaught core and take the system with it.

1 ReplyI think it's moreover the fact that one (Spartan 2s)) are genetic super soldiers trained from birth to kill who have unparalleled strength and speed. Guardians are great, but come on... Chief killed a team of marines in a boxing ring as a kid. Now Spartan 4s on the other hand... No. S4s like to think their real Spartans, but their basically guardians without super powers. P.S. Who would win in a fight? Buck or Cayde? 10 Strange coin says Cayde.
-
I feel like the guardians have better weaponry.
-
7 RepliesSpartans can flip tanks and run at 40 mph, and were trained from birth guardians realistically, were randomly raised from the dead, unless space magic teaches you how to use a gun when you get brought back to life, I don't see how a guardian would win

Small fact not to be overlooked is that while for some reason Guardians can't pick up weapons of their victims, Spartans can, so WHEN a Spartan inevitably kills his Guardian opponent that means Spartans would now have Gally? Game over at that point, 1 Spartan with Gally = 100 Guardians
-
1 ReplySpartans will eventually have every Guardian ability,
because 343 know who makes good Halo games.
-
Lol Spartans need less aim assist
-
18 RepliesI'm a big halo fan but a guardian would kill a spartan. 1. Guardians have way more durable armor than a spartan. 2. Ghost can revive a guardian while a spartan can not be revived 3. Guardian has superior weaponary. 4. Spartans are slower then guardians, plus some guardians can blink. 5. Halo may have more superior radar it has a flaw because I'd you stand still you will not be found on it. 6. Overall guardians have better feats then spartans

After watching the fight between Master Chief and Agent Locke, Master Chief is a bitch. Total wimp. Can't help but think the rest of the Spartan 2's are the same.
-
7 RepliesSpartans...the most stupidly overpowered fictional characters since DBZ. Spartans can run 60 mph and shoot a target the size of a post slot moving at combat aircraft speeds while the Spartan is hanging upside down from the outside of a space station and can impregnate your mom from halfway across the galaxy.
-
Because it takes 5 clips of ammo to go through a spartans shields?
-
Because Guardians are too busy whining on the forums.
-
This is of the dumbest reoccurring arguments on this forums.... And honestly depending on the situation either one has a chance of killing the other.
