Why are there so many quick scopers in Destiny?
At least in a situation like this, I understand the problem lies with the player and not the weapon. Im getting soooo sick and tired of being in Crucible matches where there's literally a sniper around every corner. Why do you need a sniper rifle to kill someone who's right around the corner?! Most of the maps in the game are too small for them to begin with. I get they're supposed to one-shot you, but when EVERYBODY uses them within auto-rifle range, sometimes even shotgun range that's when it starts to get ridiculous. It's not Call of Duty people.....
*EDIT* It's died down a little bit, mostly happening in the Iron Banner. But now people run around in Skirmish with Y1 exotics. *sighs*

If I have a sniper out and some crazy nut rushes me point blank, sometimes it's quicker to attempt a quickscope than to swap weapons or evade. I doubt anyone in this game actively runs around quickscoping

9 RepliesI'll quickscope in any game with a sniper. Shit, has anyone tried quickscoping in Battlefield? Intense, so much fun, so rewarding. The beautiful thing that is alluring to me about sniping in close to medium encounters is; it is high risk, high reward. If you have the skill, you will dominate encounters. If you don't, you will lose encounters. Very simple stuff, right? Snipers can be the deadliest weapon at all ranges as long as you have the skill for it. The concept is very exciting for me.

Snipers in this game are completely retarded. In year one the problem was being able to get two body shots with praedys faster than a scout could fire and with half the recoil, and now it's insanely huge amounts of target acquisition. I hate that someone can scope in and drag snipe you in less than a second, and I hate that the majority of trials matches have at least 5 people trying to take turns sniping each other the whole time

because abusing aim assist in close - medium range is "skill" but using a shotgun at max shotgun range is "scrubby". That's just the way of the FPS. Just like in BF3 where people could equip a 6x rifle scope & slug rounds on a shotgun and LITERALLY snipe - using a weapon in the extreme opposite of it's intended range is regarded as "skill". Though to be far no one really liked shotty snipers in bf3. Because rule 1 of FPS is: Shotguns are for scrubs. Always. No matter how they are implemented or how hard they are to use, they require no skill.

Heh. I had some fun not even bothering to scope, just wedging the barrel right up someone's jimmies and firing from the hip. Easy way to die and/or run out of ammo, but funny.
