It is not just elemental primaries...

Raid primaries used to have interesting or unique perks. Like a auto rifle that blinded wizards or a pulse that shot through the knight's shield. Now they all get cocoon. Reloading is pretty easy on its own. And bunch of random normal legendary perks. They could have had a non-elemental gun that stops taken centurions from spawning trackers or marks taken minotaurs for your team. You know... Things that make raid guns worth getting Edit: also where gun variety was an actual problem was in crucible not PvE. And elements hardly matter in crucible. Everyone used Thorn, red death, and hawkmoon. Then add a long range shotgun. It took them like 9 weeks of ToO to fix that. Edit: So yeah to those who said cocoon was awesome in hard mode oryx. Beat it with ToM, 1000 yd stare, raid LMG. Only used LMG for the echo. Never used cocoon. Whole team used ToM. Gotta love that weapon variety

    • One of the things that gets me with this as well is how well they sold it to us. Remember when they showed us the yr2 suros. Look here we've changed it. You get different perks to change the way it works. And it looked bad arse. It's the only weapon you have a different perk to as far as I'm aware. When are the other exotic going to be released. Haven't heard much about that have we. Also the bloody fact I have to do the upgrade tree again( remember the outrage from TDB when this happened) for a -blam!-ing weapon I've 1) already got 2) already upgraded 3 -blam!-ing times. I'm also done with this. Which is a shame as I've really enjoyed this until now. Even with all the VOG grind/Crota glitches/Skolas nerfs. Currently installing BO3 and can't wait for fallout 4. Might even finish MGSV.

        • Yeah, cocoon is wasted on the primaries. 5 seconds to auto-reload a gun that I'm using all the time...yeah, no thanks. Maybe if it was 2 so I could switch to a sniper and actually feel the need to get a shot off or two...but nah. Useless.

        • Weapon variety was an issue in PvE too. All people ran was FateBringer/VoC, Black Hammer/Ice Breaker, and Gjallarhorn/Gjallarhorn/Gjallarhorn.

            • There should be some sort of unlock able upgrade where you can choose to give your favourite weapon an elemental damage type of your choice. That being said this should be extremely difficult to achieve so that we don't just see people running around with elemental damage on every weapon in there inventory

            • Why would anyone want to do the hard raid or go flawless in trials of Osiris anymore? No elemental raid primaries, no trials adept weapons? What's my reward? Another gun that performs the same as any gun you can buy in the tower?

                Raid weapons also had one more per than Legendary and Exotics (even if it was just the "Oracle burn") plus elemental damage. So far TTK has actually helped me step away from Destiny. Bungie just keeps "limiting" the game. You like something, Bungie nerfs or removes it. You find a way to cut past their bullet sponge bosses, they try and block it. The last two weeks I have barely played at all. Seems Bungie is going to exact opposite way they should be going! Does Bungie even have employees the completely play the game, not just testing or PVP? Just sad when you know who massive Destiny could have been! To me, it just seems Bungie really didn't add as much to Destiny as they should have for TTK and found us going through the already limited game and Armory so they are trying to find any way they can to hit the brakes! I haven't even had a chance to play the raid yet. Worst part, I don't even have the craving anymore! :( Still waiting on the "Added Bonus" for those who bought the Collector's edition while already owning Destiny and both expansions. They don't seem to be doing much other than pissing everyone off! :(

                • Agree. I play less now and I have even turned the game off after being in orbit trying to think of what to do next. Any suggestions on a game that offers the types of things we have been talking about in this forum, as I am new to the gaming world. Thanks.

                  • Raid weapons look subpar at best. Taking out elemental primaries and powerhouse raid weapons takes away from my motivation to grind endlessly. We have a myriad of weapons to choose from. Problem is they are all bland as hell and upgrading new weapons has clearly been frowned upon via nerf on wep parts.                       It's not even about the weapons in general. HM didn't [i]need[/i] elemental primaries but it adds nothing new at all. When the loot from a grind/loot based game doesn't excite you anymore than that game has failed. [quote]Right? I'm loving Bungie's progression thus far...                       • The perks are fine. Those weapons are obviously fine tuned for the raid (no time wasted reloading in DPS phases, more damage to Taken). I do, however have an issue with those "meh" stats. The [i]Harrowed[/i] versions in particular should be the pinnacle of their weapon archetypes, just like the Trials guns were almost all the best PvP weapons you could get in House of Wolves. Trials should get you the very best weapons for PvP. Hard raid should get you the very best weapons for PvE. As it stands, that's just not the case.
