Taniks Cloak is my white whale.
Would 3 of coins help? I know it's not an exotic, but exhausting all my options is all I can do. I'm at a loss here. That cloak is the only reason I play strike missions anymore. The elusive white whale....

1 ReplyOddly enough it feels like the strike loot falls more with 3/coins. But I'm sure it's coincidence/imagination. Can't hurt. Already using it for exotics.

1 ReplyWait for Taniks strike to be nightfall. I tried getting a Psion Flayer mantle for weeks and never got one. This week Dust Palace is nightfall and I got the arc and the void one. Currently working on the solar mantle. Useless info btw: Flayer mantles have no shadow.

I was the same way with the dust palace cloaks, I played that strike so much with out one of the cloaks, I played it for 3-4 weeks, it wasn't until this week where I finally got the solar flayer mantle which is the one i wanted cause I use nm shaders

Stop caring. That's how you get things in Destiny. You'll stress yourself out grinding for this thing. Just like Fatebringer, Gally, Ice Breaker, Black Hammer, whatever. Anything you target and grind for will feel impossible to get. Btw, sorry, I have Taniks cloak and I've only run that strike once or maybe twice since TTK. But flayer ones look better to me.

Yeah, I know how that feels. Does Not Bow was my white whale, now it's Baron's Ambition. All I can recommend is doing Heroic strikes and building your Vanguard Streak, or playing the strike repeatedly.

I ran it with a friend 14 or 15 times. On the 15th kill, Taniks dropped his cloak. For my friend Who only plays on a Warlock The cloak was 300 I think I started a genocide in a previous life and this is my punishment.

Other than that I have decent luck on exclusive gear. I have the imago loop, theyesions arm pieces, devouring maw, the baron machine gun, darkblade helm, darkblade spite taniks cloak, does not bow, shield brother arms, tread upon stars.

It is the same for me I have ran this strike so often with or without 3oc and no cloak , but I have multiple dark blade , and other non hunter strike specific stuff ... #bungie must of stuffed the drop rates and messed with what classes get this stuff as my hunter constantly is decoding Titan or Warlock exotics which is pointless ... If the other gear is dropping like it is and this item isn't then I reckon their is a problem they need to address .. What have they done with latest updates as this has been going on for 2 -3 weeks now for me..

I got that without even realizing. It seems when you try to get something it's impossible but when it's something you don't care about, you'll get it on a regular basis. I've been farming imago loop and it's killing me.

I couldn't get it for a while either, then did the strike 3 times in a row, used a three of coins each time, and I got the cloak twice. I have found that when doing a strike, if I use a three of coins, if I don't get an exotic I get the strike exclusive quite frequently. I have received about 7 Treads, 3 Taniks cloaks, all three Flayer mantles 2 times, Mauls gauntlets 3 times, and Dark Blade's Spite 4 times. The only exclusive I haven't seen is the bond from Omnigul. So, yes I believe the three of coins does increase your chance of getting the cloak.

I accidentally got Tanik's cloak on my first Heroic run of him 3 weeks ago. Soon as I entered the final fight with Taniks, I popped 5 ToC (I was an idiot) and he dropped it on his death. Now, what has been most elusive for me is any flayer mantle. I know whichever one you kill last drops that color, but ffs the number of times I've done that strike! I haven't done nightfall yet though...

The rng for it is so bad from what I can tell, I got extremely lucky and got it on my level first TTK run of shadow thief in the heroic playlist.
