This was the worst player I have played a raid with in awhile. Now I get why people are refusing to raid with people outside of clans or under x level.
It's not that this guy was not doing enough damage. He was doing less damafe, but that wasn't the issue. He'd shoot golgoroth in the back and pull his gaze for no reason, then run around the map for no reason, ruining any chance of good dps.
If he was torn between dimensions in the daughters fight, which seemed to happen every other time, holy shit. He'd try to jump to the wrong platform. He'd try to jump towards the sniper platforms (wtf?!) He'd jump to the wrong wizard. He'd jump off and take forever getting to the predetermined spot.
And yes, we tried very hard, to politely explain everything to him ahead of time. The platforms spawn like this. Please do this. This needs to happen etc.
After we finally cleared the daughters the fireteam was up too late and people were too frustrated to continue. Yay.

You need to teach people what to do you do understand that right we brought a 270 with us threw the full raid and it only took us an hour and a half
-
Played with 2 305s the other day who made us wipe 4 times on the totems cp. They would die to that one knight every other time. I had to boot them.

I beat it with a 284 guy weeks ago, and he was one of the better players. From your description it just sounds like you had an inexperienced player that couldn't grasp your explanations for the various mechanics of each portion of the raid. Don't bring light level into this & further stereotype players below 295 light. Just make this a story about a bad experience with a really scrubby player
-
I don't think it has anything to do with light level, just experience
-
1 ReplyLike how you just assumed all people who are around 290 do this.
-
I would've kicked him after 5 minutes. I can't deal with ignorance
-
That has nothing to do with his light level at all. Sounds like you just found a bad player. I've encountered similar idiots who have 300+ light.
-
This entire rant has nothing to do with light level.
-
I think this guy was just slow in the head....
-
I dont see what being a low 290 has to do with skill.....level is rng anymore.....
-
So you're suggesting a lower light level is equal to the level of cooperation or team work? Can I suggest you're wrong?
-
light level does not equal common sense and doesn't mean that they are a good player. My raid group took a 283 and 285 at the same time cause we down two members. This was their first play through and they picked on the mechanics right away with simple instruction on what to do. Hell, we taught them the Oryx fight on the fly cause one of our guys started it on accident and they only died after the first round, which is best time to die anyway.
-
So blame the person and not the light level. I say that because your title puts emphasis on the light level.

Edited by Bertyslick: 10/22/2015 6:56:16 PMMy buddy joined the raid when we were at daughters. He was only 288 light and had no experience with the raid. I told the group this and that I would tell him to leave but they said, "well he can't be worse then the past guys." So I ended up quickly giving him a explanation of the mechanics and decided to have him on ADD control so he wouldn't mess up the sequence. We ended up beating daughter and Oryx first go and he held his own.
-
Your problems with him have nothing to do with his light level... Light level =/= skill or knowledge
-
Right, I forgot that light level is a direct indicator of one's personality. Thank you for reminding me.
-
It wouldn't have mattered if he had been a 300 player, if he was bad he was bad Level has nothing to do with it
-
High light level doesnt prove ability or skill but atleast it shows effort and some experience. Other than light level there is no other way to vet a rando
-
I would of kick him. I kick people who can't follow simple instructions.
-
Sounds like a troll

1 ReplyWhat do you mean he "slammed the wrong wizard"?
-
I was 287 first clear git gud skrub
-
Light doesn't mean experience...
-
2 RepliesIt's not the amount of light in the guardian. It's the amount of guardian in the light.
