• Not sure why everyone is referring to Oryx when deciding front / back of the room. We start in that room with the sisters. they're in the middle of the room. That alone tells me we start in the front of the room.

        • Number the plates 1 - 4 anti clockwise before each run and assign players names to the numbers. Works every time.

Arguments for Oryx is the front: Front and back are relative terms to describe postion that are interchangeable depending on view point. When facing Oryx, that is the front but when facing the door, that now becomes the front. Those examples are from the relative view point of the player. The real question is, where is the view point that the room will be judged from? The most likely answer to this question would be the spawn point in case you wipe, which happens to spawn you facing Oryx. Based off that, Oryx would be the front of the room and the door would be the back. A main determining factor in identifying the front of a room is a focal point. Some examples of this could be the screen of a movie theatre, the stage at a concert, a teacher's desk or white/chalkboard. All of these draw your attention to face a certain way in a room. Oryx does the same, drawing your attention to face towards him and also making where he spawns the focal point of the room. As a result that is also the front of the room. If there is no important focal point in a room then where you enter would be the front. During the Sisters fight the door would be the front because there is no important focal points on either side of the room. Once you add Oryx attention is drawn to that side. The Shade of Oryx orb, the Vessel of Oryx ship, and most of the ads during the fight all spawn on Oryx's side of the room. Arguments that the Door is the front: You enter from that side

          • There is only one door to enter oryx and since we go through it I've always said oryx spawns at the back.

          • Lesson to all....take on step forwards, now one step backwards. Forward implies front just as you'd be facing an objective! Still confused....I would boot you from my fire team since I have better things to do than to give life lessons someone should have learned at age 3

            • Doesn't really matter. In terms of plate number we use 1-4 starting with the right plate coming in the door going CCW. Problem solved....

            • Oryx spawn in the back of the room since we're not walking in the back door. Either way I really don't care who calls it what as I know what I'm doing in the fight so that's all that really matters. I don't care if you say it's the corner of the room provided you know when to hop on your platform or float.

              • Almost every boss or section in the raid that has you split up into teams will have that team say left or right. (and middle for warpriest) so that means you consider where the boss or whatever is, is the front. We are using our point of view to determine what is what. So when we are at Oryx why do some stare out their ass?

              • In terms of a room, he's in the front of the room. In terms of a theater, he's neither in the front nor the back. He would just be considered to be "in the house". The front of the house would be the area BEFORE the guardians walk through the door to enter Oryx's room. And there technically is no back of the house since it's just outer space. But, for argument sake, anything behind Oryx himself (and not in the room/house) would be considered the back of the house.

                • Good relic runners don't need to know pads. They know that second round he always goes to the door side. After 2 he switched sides. The last 2 rounds he stays at the front. L1 L2 R1 and R2 are better call outs.

                • I don't know why people are so worried about this topic. Most raid groups will have there own callouts anyways. My group would do skolas, from the door looking out right side was Canada and left was Mexico. That way it had no confusion.

                • A few points for everyone (not that it really matters). Don't compare the Oryx fight location to houses, classrooms, churches, or theaters. None of those things are good comparisons. House fronts are determined by their face in regards to their property access typically. Classroom fronts are determined by the seat facing and blackboard. Churches have defined front based on pews and pulpets. Theaters have stage directions and area designations. "Front row seats" are referred to as such as they are the seats closest to "stage front". The Oryx fight location has 4 sides. Left side, right side, door side, and spawn side. What you call those sides doesn't matter, as long as the terms are agreed upon. In the event of a disagreement, it is the raid leader's job to make the final decision. If you do not agree with the raid leader and keep arguing it, or cannot adapt, you shouldn't be raiding. IF YOUR TEAM CANNOT FUNCTION BECAUSE A STUPID THING SUCH AS THIS, THEN YOUR TEAM IS NOT READY.

                  • My biggest problem with this is we start with the sisters. They spawn in the middle. So we enter in the front with them. Then it changes when Oryx shows up ?

                  • ORYX (front) 2 1 3 4 DOOR (back) Really unsure why we do it this way, one of the guys had cleared it earlier and briefed it like this. Works well for us....

                    • The Dreadnaught nose is pointing away from Saturn as it sits in orbit, so Oryx spawns at the back of the ship. Whether you class that as the front or back of the room? Who cares? And who really needs to call front and back in that room anyway?

You enter the room and spawn in the room facing Oryx; where you enter/spawn is the back of the room from that perspective. I think of it kind of like a boat.

                        • Because sometimes on a dumb death someone can take a dead guardians platform. And with lfg I don't pay attention to who is on what. I only look for my turn when I'm up. Unless I'm floating. What really bothers me is how people are like you need 4 people on platforms...

                          • The problem with calling it by someone's name is that there are times when you need to move around.
