Change the Exotic Sword Quest...Now
I understand the exotic sword quest/s shouldn't be a cake walk. However, the part where you have to farm materials is utterly ridiculous. What the hell is the point to running around gather literally hundreds of a certain material? It takes hours. It's beyond stupid. It's mind numbing

1 ReplyDude, you could just take your time with it. You don't have to have it right away. You'll get the kills and mats through osmosis ( patrolls, missions, crucible). If you choose to do it as a chore, then that's what it's going to feel like.

Also, scope in with Angel of Light if you can. Before that I spent my entire off-day Friday getting absolutely nothing. Another ridiculous part of the quest is default matchmaking for the Sunless Cell Strike. What the f[b]u[/b]ck?

The only problematic part of the quest for me is the sunless cell. And that's only cause I wasted time trying with randoms from matchmaking instead of using lfg. Gonna do it this weekend.

7 RepliesI agree that the farming AND crucible kills (I SUCK at PvP!!!) were a bit daunting for me, but I got through them. Today I picked up the 300 light level strike (I Like Cool) portion. It shows up as "Very Hard" for my lil 295 titan. For those of you who have done it, how is it? I am going in with two of my clan members, one of which has done it already, but still, I'm a lil nervous....

You only need ten of the materials... That part was easy compared to the 500 ability kills... Try void on a titan.... I agree, the struggle is real, but I have had much worse grinds then that.. What really kills me on this quest is the arms day wait... The way they are time gating material now is upsetting

1 ReplyI completed that step in about 1 1/2 hours. A ghost with material detection makes it a cake walk. The harder part for me was crucible kills, but in the end I made it.

M8 try farming for the raze lighter the most time consuming thing ever I started at 4 ended at 10 and only got 6

It makes it hard to get and allows those who complete it to be more rare. So, not everyone will have it if they're lazy.

Because I chose the Void sword on my Hunter but did the first 2 steps of the quest with a Solar sword I had swapped over, it gave me the Materials/Ability Kills step for both swords. I deleted my Void sword prior to this. Ill be getting my Solar Exotic today but I finished the Materials/Ability kills for the Void one today so I have to wait a week for that. That's my only gripe is having to wait for Armsday even though that's today.
