Tell us about some of the best hate mail you've gotten!
I've gotten hate mail in PvE and PvP, for reasons like "Your voice is monotone and you sound like a depressed robot" to "Just let me kill you with my hammers please." It never gets old. No such thing as bad hate mail. I've even gotten death threats! I'll share one I just got a few hours ago. WARNING: lots of paragraphs
Some sunbreaker who managed to miss three of his hammers at shotgun range (who I end up meleeing to death) messages me telling me he hopes that everyone I ever love comes to realize how much they hate me. I asked him why he's so upset, and he started accusing me of cheating. I told him to have a good day, then he dropped the best thing I've ever read from any human being ever.

I just kept sending him messages like "chin up sport :)" and dumb crap like that. Invited him to the party.
He sounded like a 20 something year old guy trying to overcompensate for something with a nasally voice. Sounded like Squilliam Tentacles, but with health issues. He kept trying to say something like "Shut up I'm reporting you," or something, but I couldn't understand him too well.
The salt was overflowing, his friends even joined the party to back him up, and soon I had 4 different people threatening to find my IP address. I couldn't stop laughing at them, they were making my day. They got upset, and told me to burn in hell after I finished laughing at them. I thanked them for all the laughs, and kicked them.

Good times. I wish I got hate mail more often, it usually only seems to come during IB or ToO. Puts me in a good mood.

Edit 3: got our first sad mail. A moment of silence for the guardian that left Destiny because he couldn't get a kill.
Edit 4: so many good ones. Good to see we can laugh it off and dust off the salt.

I don't get hate mail, but I get friend requests from someone on the other team who I most likely killed. Don't use a mic when in crucible either.

6 man Fireteam in Iron Banner all using No Land Beyond, Rusted Land was the map and we were only allowed to use NLB, no special/heavy/supers. We won buy 4000 points against some really poor players and all got hate mail accusing us of cheating and that we had been reported, I replied thanking the person for reporting me for being good at the game and they then went mental, all the usual crap that comes with it. We had a good old laugh for many a day after

1 ReplyI tend to use sidearms in pvp, and that means getting in close to medium range. Most of the time I'll bust a cap in a shotgun users ass, and give them a bag or two. Always get some message, mostly from little kids.

Once had a full team spam my inbox saying they were reporting me for using a lagswitch. I regret my psn gamertag immensely. Also got a hate message once from someone named danny for using shotgun in crucible so I flooded his inbox with "OH DANNY BOY THE PIPES ARE CALLING" and made him my only target the next few games.

5 RepliesI've gotten a lot of hate mail lately, first one was Thursday when j was playing ironbanner and one of my teammates were using the ss glitch and the guy kept messaging me about it and I wasn't using the glitch because It's stupid, the last time was my favorite though, happened earlier, I just picked up my nirwens mercy and really wanted to go test it out, so I went into skirmish and blasted the first team with 18-0, not where I got the hate mail, just wanted to brag, the second game is where I got it, I was playing with two god awful ransoms, both went negative, I was using my party crasher due to it being a small map and my nirwens mercy, we ended up winning 5000-4920 with me getting the most lucky kill at the end, this guy messaged me(he had a .5 k/d this game) about how I was abusing the nirwen and shotgun because I suck and need op weapons to be good, one of those scrubs that call for nerfs every time he can't kill someone, the fun thing about it was he was extremely angry that I got 4 triple kills that game, I mean if you can't take me down 3v1 then I don't think that's my weapons fault

When I was doing the chaperone bounty I had to camp with a sniper and my favourite message was "I know what your doing, It's rather smart... BUT YOU ARE RUINING FOR THIS YOU IDIOT!!!!!!"

14 RepliesGot one this weekend in Iron Banner. Came across a warlock who blinked and ONLY used shotty (I know ....nothing new). I destroyed him on several close encounters with my sniper so I gave him a teabag or two. The message came during the middle of the game. He said "You're not even good fgt. ..only your team...not you." He quit before the game ended. I finished with the most kills at 22 with the highest kd (around 3.5 I think). I have ZERO respect for anyone whose main weapon is a shotgun. It takes zero skill to use.

I asked which weapon bothers you my pulse rifle or sniper? He said sniper. He was running around with a shotgun as his primary so I said weren't u using a shotgun the whole time? He said ya I like to get up close and personal then use a weapon that takes no skill to use. I laughed and said OK. Also I don't camp as that would be boring. I like to run and gun I just prefer sniping over the shotgun and fusion no matter which map I'm playing.

3 RepliesMy favorite one, was back on Battlefield 4. I was a sniper and my friend was an assault. My friend and I where playing CTF together, when the game glitched. My friend died in their base, but he couldn't respwan. He was literally stuck on kill cam for the remainder of the match. Needless to say we were kind of assholes and with communication through headsets I proceeded to snipe his killer multiple times for the rest of the match. After the match I got a message from the guy asking how I kept finding him and out sniping him the entire match. We then showed him the recording of the match and how it glitched. We all laughed about it. Never could get it to do that glitch again. As far as Destiny goes, I think it was back in The Dark Below. When armor pricing snipers where the best thing ever. I think it was Twilight Gap. Me, on my hunter, and a warlock where facing off. popping in and out of cover trying to get each other. But we could see each other the entire time through the fence area over by C. After a minute of neither of us doing anything I danced. So he started dancing. I then pulled out my sniper and shot him through the wall. FUNNIEST HATE MAIL EVER. "You god damn cheating son of a bitch imma report your ass and murder you"

I don't get hate mail often, but it's happened. Every time though, I always reply with "What's wrong pumpkin?" They usually don't respond.

Never got hate mail on Destiny. Now OF gears of War? Lol. Those were the days. Closest thing to tag these days is fighting games. Randoms online get super salty when you mop them up.
