Making Oryx flinch?
So I've gotten to Oryx probably 6 or 7 times now with random players. We usually rock and roll through the entire raid until Oryx. Still haven't beaten him! We always have trouble not making him flinch and wiping. Sometimes we make him flinch once, detonate bombs and then fail to make him flinch the next time. I truly don't understand how a team of 295-305 players keeps wiping here.. can someone explain the non-touch of malice weapon load out for oryx? I was using a 310 jade rabbit, 300 1000-yard stare and 308.frenzy (frenzy and rabbit are good for ogres and adds and was sniping oryx 5 to 6 times).

If anyone has touch of malice use that 2nd option: Black Spindle (really high impact) 3rd option: whole team uses snipers (preferred) or really GOOD scout rifles and machine guns NOTHING ELSE Last resort: get some hunter with the nighthawk

If you're struggling try a couple of hunters running gunslinger with celestial nighthawk.

High impact snipers is all you need. The one time we couldn't get him to flinch I asked everyone what they was using, some guy was using a fusion rifle and the other guy was using an auto rifle.

Touch if malice is too op. If you have one then you should make flinch no problem

Have enough people using fusion rifles/machine guns. Make sure you guys jump up onto the platform and don't stay in the middle. That way your damage will be more due to range, and you'll have a straight on shot. If you have the Malices or lots of high levels, middle will work fine.

Only had this problem on first two runs after that seems like we always have at least 3 touch of malice so no problem

Use high caliber rounds. My team was struggling with it until 3 of us switched to Monte Carlo on our blind run.

Use your primary and heavy machine guns, you need fast dps to make him flinch

Everyone has to be shooting. Touch of malice is a great help, but it can be done with anything. I was using a 299 hung jury when I did it lmao Also, I'm surprise not many people know this but, the second that his chest starts glowing, even before he "opens it" you can start shooting him and it'll do damage.

3 RepliesTitan with weapons/Make sure ALL fireteam know WHAT they are shooting at, I like ONE player with good launcher to smash add's BEFORE you first shoot Oryx makes it a LOT easier... ;-) Good luck !

Use high impact snipers and gud heavy machine guns stay away from using primaries on oryx unless u have the Tom Aslong as every one gets 3 to 4 shots on oryx he will flinch every time if you are on ps4 I am running the oryx cp tonight to help a friend so add bazilbush1 if you want a hand will be raiding about 730 tonight uk time

Machine guns. Surprised more people aren't suggesting them. It's more about hits than damage. Every group I have run with most everybody except the relic runner (who has a sword for the knight) has a machine gun... They're good for runaway ogres, good for the shadow and , of course, good for staggering Oryx.

A celestial nighthawk Gunslinger can work wonders if staggered with sniper and primary. It's best to have two, so they can stagger their supers. They swap who supers each round

My advice is, don't shoot too early. Sniper or primary is fine. Both work. Wait till the chest is open and the heart (black bit) just becomes visible. Then smash him right in the middle of it. Hitting outside that doesn't do enough damage. Assuming no ToM I would say, full clip of sniper then switch to high impact scout if he's not staggered. Don't reload the sniper till you are waiting to detonate bomb. The two things i see that cause a wipe are: - people being too cautious and not getting far enough out to get a line on oryx, so can't hit him where they need to - you can't take damage in the bubble so no need for caution - people start shooting too early and are reloading just when they need to be starting hitting him. Use the extra time to make sure you are lined up so your shots will count Hope this helps!

Everyone should be using snipers. You shouldn't be having problems especially if you're all 295+. This is absurd. If you are truly desperate, then a GG with celestial nighthawk will help, but if you need that to win this then you got the wrong team.

Make sure everyone knows where they are shooting......start shooting when the light appears in his chest-abdominal region, after he slams......use snipers and scoutrifles with a titan bubble weapons of light... Hope this helps.

If there is anyone on the team shooting adds instead of oryx.... beat them... severely, all 6 of you with snipers should do it
