Let's talk about defenders in pvp.
Sunbreakers get a 1 shot offensive ability and the best over shield in the game. All I ask if the user of ward of dawn gets a super oriented over shield as well.
They get team buffs to compensate for the offensive ability of the other classes. Every other class get an over shield as well as some offensive capability sans gunslinger because glass cannon.
I use blessings because of the team oriented nature of it, but can not stand getting 1 shot gun blast killed in blessings. You can't just increase the over shield on blessings because it will potentially over buff a whole team. So give an over shield for the duration of the super.
The problem I have is if I die to 1 shotgun shot which is easy enough to do, my bubble goes away for the whole team thus promoting a terribly passive risk aversive play style
Edit: I'd also love to hear from the people that think this is a bad idea as to why if they disagree.

Defender bubble should reflect all shots it takes instead of absorb

2 RepliesEdited by julianwelton: 10/17/2015 1:43:18 AMWhile we're on the subject of balance... I don't think Nightstalkers should have two of the worst grenades in the game (void ball and void spike) on one subclass. They need an attachable or something. Also, void wall is interesting but pretty impractical to be honest. P.S. About Defender, I always thought it would be nice if when you set off your bubble any enemy trapped inside was poisoned or killed.

3 RepliesI always thought it was weird that Flame Shield activates on hit, but Force Barrier activates on a kill. Seems like Defenders are supposed to be more shield-oriented than Sunsingers...

1 ReplyI honestly use the bubble not as a bubble, but a wall. That bubble shouldn't be your home for the duration, it should honestly be your last line of defense if you get overcrowded.

1 ReplyI like it -A Hunter

8 RepliesI feel that ward only needs a durability buff

1 ReplyDefender needs...reworking in terms of pvp. However a bubble on a flag is endlessly annoying when I dont have a super Ohh and all the new subclasses need nerfs in pvp. All of them are entirely broken when compared to the previous ones...maybe not nightstalker though, not sure

6 RepliesDefender is a support class. In my opinion it is the best pve support class do it should be weaker in PvP than others.

1 ReplyDid you know swords give more damage resistance than a -blam!-ing armor of light bubble

1 ReplyI've seen so many matches turn on smart defender play there is no -blam!-ing way you can convince me they aren't balanced.

I've always been one to use the defender subclass, PvP and PvE. I definitely gotta say it's the best super in PvE for team oriented play, even going solo it helps to save yourself when you almost die. As for PvP it's not as good unless your just playing control, even then you gotta have a shotgun if your sitting on a point. Imagine if everyone was using defender in crucible, I would actually have a crapload of fun in a crucible match. It wouldn't be so much super based, it would be skill-based.

2 RepliesDefender is balanced, and there is nothing you can say to convince me it isn't.

Edited by Tagonyst: 10/16/2015 10:09:29 PMOut of curiosity, is there anyone reading this thread that thinks the defender shouldn't get a pvp buff? If so, why?
