12 RepliesEdited by BR1M570N3: 10/15/2015 5:56:09 PMI posted this in response to a similar topic yesterday, but here's how it's gonna go people:
Throttling resource availability like this does a couple things - one, it slows player progressions, thereby extending a player's engagement with the game. Secondly, it induces a "pain point" for players who want to progress weapons/gear but can't do so immediately for lack of said resources. Why would they do this, you ask? The answer is simple if you are open minded enough to accept it - because a fundamental concept of cash-shop games is to use scarcity of resources (among other things, like time gates) as an inducement for players to purchase in-game currency or materials with IRL cash. The game is being tuned to create an economic imbalance wherein the player is always operating at a deficit for currency and/or materials. They'll do this slowly and in the most imperceptible ways possible so as to keep people playing while they gradually dial up the inconvenience factor, and tempt people to hit the "easy button". Though it doesn't seem like it a lot of times, these guys aren't idiots. From a business perspective, going to a cash-shop model makes all the sense in the world - especially since they're doing it on top of a release that people already paid cash for. But from a player's perspective? Been there. Done that. Spent thousands in cash shops. Never again..
Certainly, it's quite possible that Banshee and other NPC vendors will sell materials for standard in game currency - be it glimmer, marks, coins or motes or whatever... and that is great up until the point when you run out of those things, too. We see these things are already being throttled... they are just creating yet another opportunity to monetize the game in the cash-shop. Sure you can still play for free... but people think the grind is "real" now??? pfft... just wait.

2 RepliesWe should get weapon parts from dismantling test weapons

If you look at a weapon, and move the cursor over upgrade materials, it shows that Wapon Parts are available from the gunsmith. However I have never seen him sell weapon Parts. I think he should, about 500 glimmer for 5
-
50 glimmer for 10 weapon parts.
-
-
Sure, why not?
-
Yessss
-
the funny thing is, is that if you go over weapon parts it says that you get them from dismantling weapons and from the gunsmith.....
-
Wasn't he SUPPOSED to? I remember reading on the description of them back before 2.0 "can be found or bought from the Gunsmith".
-
Yes!!! They are so scarce now
-
-
Yes. Have you notice the inflation on the cost of greens? Previously it was like 500 glimmer. Now? 2500 a green for one weapon part.
-
Yeah can't find snipers for weapons parts maybe there should be arms day every day but with weapons parts
-
So much of this.
I NEED IT.
2 RepliesIf you can easily earn glimmer, then just buy exotic weapons from the weapons iPad and break them down. Each dismantle of an exotic is 4-7 weapon parts unleveled. For full glimmer that's usually 50 or so parts. Not great, but good in a pinch.

I'm down to a lonely 10 weapon parts across all my characters.... and so the hunt continues...

Nah. The grind is real.

Bump this! I need weapon parts all the time. Always short on them and that's pretty ridiculous. Bungie address this garbage. We shouldn't have to spend time looking for weapon parts. C'mon man
