Okay so bungie have nerfed shotgun on 3 different occasions but the sniper rifle which basically lock on to an enemy behind a 4 foot block of concrete are still considered fair?
Edit: I regret this post.
Edit: Just so everyone know this is speaking from a snipers perspective all I'm saying is they seem a little off. Stop jumping to bloody assumptions. Jees

I use Stillpiecer and I seem to feel much more comfortable and rewarded when using it. But still you shouldn't be complaining since in comparison, shotguns are way easier to use. It's only now that snipers are gaining more fame since the "Short-Gaze+Hidden Hand" combination started becoming a popular choice for noobs who can't aim after House of Wolves.

I agree, sniping takes little skill in this game. It's very easy.
-
Get out sniper, put enemy remotely in middle of screen, pull aim about half a second before pulling trigger, headshot 90% of the time. You almost don't even have to look.

1 ReplyI've been using Hereafter a lot since I got it on Friday and I shot someone who was sprinting behind a wall. I was aiming around his chest and by some miracle I got a headshot... Through some concrete... With a gun that makes whale noises. That is all.

2 RepliesUse the Eirene RR4, its 22 aim assist. I think the lowest In The game currently
-
Nice 161 sniper kills in crucible OP. teach me your trickshottimg ways

OP is a fgt

1 ReplyLook for the aim assist hidden stat on data pages. A majority of snipers have little aim assist including one with possible negative aim assist. There are some that have a lot though but are normally "crucible snipers". A majority of the sniping in pvp is just hard scoping as there are few maps with ranges that would really justify using a sniper. That said I've found that after using them awhile I get better at quickly lining up targets outside of hard scoping. The snap shot perk helps with this but could also function as an aim assist boost Depending on how snap aim works on snipers. Even with high AA, snipers still create fewer problems than shotguns due to requiring a headshot, and not being near uncounterable in their intended range due to high flinch and scouts and pulses having good ranges. But in general, this game has an aim assist problem.

1 ReplySound like a salty shotgunner, can't wait for someone to blow your head off.
-
3 RepliesA skilled sniper is going to be deadly regardless. Some dudes have been sniping and playing FPS games for years. I will even say that aim assist actually makes it harder at times for the really skilled snipers. My point is no matter what you will get owned by players who are just better than you. All the nerfs can't change the fact that you will always encounter better players.
-
Nerf op shotgun noobs no skill
-
2 RepliesI use low aim assist snipers. I hate when I'm sniping someone and someone else runs in my sights and throws everything off.
-
3 RepliesWould some one like to explain why some snipers have more aim assist then others? Why not if your going to have any AA have it all be the same. Or make a perk, (Scouts eye-signifigant aim assist.) Idk this game baffles me sometimes
-
Well Bungie doesn't known shit about cruicble and should listen to some pro players instead of theorist but you know :/
-
1 ReplySniping takes skill. but I have a sniper w aim assist as a perk. Sometimes I don't even know how I hit the guy. I would rather it be taken out of the game. true aim is better.

2 RepliesYup- hereafter with its 80% aim assist :'(

7 RepliesEdited by KawiFohFiddy: 10/18/2015 7:50:19 AMI hate aim assist. I think it does more harm than good. It's screwed me out of kills when two players cross paths when they're in my sights.
-
2 RepliesI am completely ok with snipers in their current state without final round. I use Stillpiercer more than any other sniper and don't really know the AA stats compared to others.
-
Try aiming at and shooting a friend in PVE while they're moving. That's what no aim assist feels like.

17 RepliesEdited by FlandreScarlette: 10/18/2015 7:52:30 AMFinally, someone else that gets it. Sniping montages for Destiny make me laugh my ass off, though. You want real "skill" sniping, play Battlefield. Sniping in Destiny takes the least amount of skill I've heard of yet. No sway, no real recoil, far too much aim assist, no bullet drop... And then people brag about it in montages...pft. Also, for the people claiming "but other games have aim assist". Destiny has a TON of it. And it's a hidden stat, too.
-
I'd take you a little more seriously if you didn't have 2k shotgun kills compared to less than 350 with a sniper.
-
I've been seeing a lot of body sniping then using a weapon swap perk and finishing off with a primary.
