Is 280 light ok for the new raid?
I'm 280 light and I really want to do the raid… I'm not sure if I'll be under powered tho

It's not hard to hit 290. Grind some strikes and curt if oryx, use 3 of coins one you'll be there in no time. 280 isn't really enough, sure it's possible but it won't be fun for you.

Its not hard to get past 290 light and if u haven't found the time to get past 280 u should go grind strike playlist an easier one not heroic to up ur light if u join a raid ur just a drag on the rest of the team members who did put time in to get past 290 besides that if u dont make it to 295 by oryx u cant contribute to the fight anyway

It'll be tough but if you have higher lvl ppl with you you'll be fine.

Checked and you're 289 now. You should be golden for the raid. Hopefully you'll get some good drops and maybe the raid sniper to replace that blue of yours.

You'll struggle. You'll struggle to stay alive...and you'll struggle to do enought damage. Because the parts of the raids I've played so far, if you don't do enough damage to the bosses as a team....its an instant team wipe. The Enranges arne't like VoG or CE where things just get harder. This raid just doles out an insta-death if you don't do enough damage fast nough. You'll enjoy the raid----and be much more likely to find a game----if you keep workingto get your Light more towards 290+.. Especially a good quality sniper rifles that is well north of 290+

I've completed it at 288, but I know the fight well and my group generally one shots oryx. Overall your going to take a lot of damage and your margin for error is gonna be 0 at that level. Your also not going to contribute to dps. In short it's possible, but I would really suggest at least trying for 290 first.

Personal experience 280 is bare minimum, and that's assuming you have a fireteam of properly geared/experienced players. Warpriest should hopefully throw a couple drops at you bumping your light, but at that level my biggest concern would be your weapons. Do you have a good scout/pulse and sniper? How high is the dmg on those guns? If that checks out you should be solid.

Just make sure majority of the party is like 285+ for the raid. You'll get stuff along the way that'll boost your level. I recommend you be at 290+ for Oryx though

No. Unless you have friends willing to carry you there is no way you can possibly do the raid. Even if they are willing to carry you, it will take forever and you probably won't end up killing oryx.

2 Replies- it's fine if you're good -we had 4 280s my first time - add me op I'll take you through Lies. I wont lie to you op, no 280 is not enough. The raid is 290 so you should be at least at that level while using a scout rifle, sniper rifle (20+ impact) and a heavy that's not a sword (bolt caster would be okay but I don't think you have it) Now maybe you can finish if you have 5 good friends that will carry you, but if you PuG no one will take you if your under 290 and no group that will take you under 295 will kill Oryx. My advice is to play strikes and the CoO until you hit 290, then join one of those groups with softer requirements. You'll probably get to golgoroth, maybe even the sisters before the group dissolves. Hopefully you got some decent drops and are 295+ then you just join a group asking for that much and you'll probably finish. Good luck!

280 is fine! Learn to do the raid, be sure to do nightfall, and soon you'll either finish the raid or be better light to make it easier! Weapons matter, for oryx use the highest impact/range ratio you can get.

8 RepliesDid the raid at 260 light the other day, did it on the first go. Very easy, as long as you have weapons that are 300 you can do damage. Good teammates to communicate with make the whole thing a walk in the park. Yes you can do the raid at 280, just have some good weapons and teammates. Some people think you need to be 295+ to do the raid but thats bull.

Respect the rest of your team by being prepared. Grind court of Oryx for a few hours and you should be 295ish. I highly recommend bringing a high impact sniper rifle and a machine gun.

If you grind court for a few hours you can make it to 290 no problem... But if that sounds boring to you then just make sure you look up how to do things and find a team who arent a bunch if a holes and are willing to help you learn

Just grind court of oryx and strikes and 3oC you will soon get your level up
