The Loot System Detects What You Already Have....
Yeah that's basically not true at all, unless my fire team is extremely unlucky. I got my 4th pair of Raid boots tonight. Still no chest piece or helm. And every one else is in the same boat.
Was that whole "loot system detects what you've already gotten" just made up or is it working as intended?
Also, who came up with Moldering Shards? Slap them please. It actually wouldn't be TOO terrible of an idea if it worked properly. Two times in a row now my "second drop" has been, what's that? You guessed it. 2 Moldering Shards! So I basically spent 20 shards to get two back. It's so genius.
EDIT: Bungie, the responses here are proof. We hope you're taking a look at this.

Yeah. I have had really bad luck with getting doubles of any engrams. I don't see much improvement in this area.

Stop already, I don't use shotguns. Give me an AR, a Scout Rifle, a Handcannon or a Machine Gun. Heck, I'd take anything except the same -blam!-ing Shogun that I've gotten 5 times in a row. I've gotten 6 shotguns, 1 sniper, and no fusion rifles/hmg. So yea. However I have gotten everything but the helmet on both my warlock/hunter. It's definitely better than before, but can still be somewhat frustrating. Also after 4 runs I'm still sitting at a 300 light ghost :/

It considers a change in perks and intellect discipline and strength values as a new drop. Keep the duplicates from now on until you get what you actually want

I think it works how it was designed. It's designed to keep you addicted and playing. It's going to send your brain through the gambling mindset.

I have dismantled about 5 y2 fourth horseman already. I keep one in the vault. So tired of seeing that weapon.

The "3 of Coins" works about 10% of the time for me (not complaining - just saying), however the Exotic I always get is what I already have, 3 or 4 times. Same with Killing Bosses like undying mind for Strikes. I remember Deej and his team standing there in the TTK Hype videos and telling us loot drops will give you what you don't have. Well they must have inverted the probability, because I don't need 4 Telestos, or 6 knight hawk helmets or Exotic Hunter boots for my Titan. The RNG for loot is totally inverted and in some ways, much worse than it was Destiny 1.0.

My friend has gotten 5 chests pieces for his Hunter. No other gear and that's his main. I still haven't gotten a helmet for all 3.

I got 29 exotic engrams saved up the first week of taken king thanks to 3 of coins and the good 'ol draksis farm. I go to turn these in and i have around 7/8 gauntlet engrams and the first 5 i open turn intoyoung ahamkara's spine's. I about quit decrypting right there. So, no, i don't think this "loot system detects what you've already got" is true
