Bring Back Thorn!
With the availability of other weapons that are capable of delivering a two-shot kill, what's the point of the Thorn nerf anymore? Wasn't it to eliminate the two-shot kill? I don't want to see the other two-shot kill weapons nerfed at all, just bring back the one that was the best!
Edit: Look at all of the negative responses below to this comment! Just the mere mention of the weapon coming back has so many players shaking in their leg armor! Lol! Which says a lot! These are the kinds of weapons Destiny needs! Look at the overwhelming response from players being totally underwhelmed by the 'sleeper simulant'. It's because all year 2 guns have lame perks, due to whining and crying. I think this says that Destiny guns NEED the greatness that they now lack. Give us something to be in awe of Bungie! There needs to be weapons that put a chill down the spines of the darkness and guardians alike! Bring back the awesomeness to Destiny! Let's kick this lame, vanilla, communist - "everything is the same" trend of weapons. Give us something capital, give us something truly great, give us something... American! Hee haw!
Edit 2: Wow! Maybe I jumped the gun a bit on this one! (Pun intended) I just started using my Thorn in the crucible again, and it still is pretty bad ass! I guess maybe I should have used it before I spoke! The dot still takes out guardians after you shot them a few times and walk away! Lol! Just maybe not a two-shot on a full health guardian. Anyway, still works pretty darn good, sorry to all of you Thorn haters, you run into me in the crucible and you're likely to experience a Thorn dot death yet again. Ha ha ha!
Edit: This topic is almost a year old now, but I just wanted to call out all the nay Sayers and say, "HaHaHa, it is coming back! Year 3 will have thorn!"

Personally, I think it should come back just like all exotics but obviously with a perk change. Maybe something like it only triggers the poison effect if its a precision hit? Although i have used it now and the poison is terrible and its no longer a guaranteed 2 shot anymore it takes at least 3-4 shots now for a kill, also with the hand cannon nerf it struggles to hit half its shots. So maybe it should come back, just with some adjustments.

It wasn't so much the power of the weapon as much as it was the amount of players using it. Every match was Thorn and Felwinter's. Players weren't even trying to use tactics with Thorn. See someone already fighting with a team mate? Just shoot wildly and let the DOT do the work. Wow, so fun with every match being like that...

They nerfed the already poor stability, aim assist, and range. Now it can't contend like it used to. The stupidity about everything is that the gun sacrificed all those things they nerfed for impact and a little more range. It was 92 for head. 120 on crit. Meaning a consistent 2 hit hill. Now it's 88 on head, and much less on crit because it's range has been cut. It's stability now works against you. I never had a problem going against TLW or Thorn.

Would love to see it back for pve. It can be banned from PvP for all I care as long as I can use it on patrols and strikes.

Edited by Vakris One: 10/9/2015 9:59:25 PMWow, I'm surprised to read so much hate for the Thorn on here. It was one of the most satisfying guns to do the exotic bounties for in my opinion. The bounty was challenging and sometimes tough and you got a really great gun at the end for all that hard work - i.e. it wasn't just a mindless grind type bounty. Its backstory was actually quite interesting. I mean this is the gun that launched a thousand clans like the "Thorny Guardians.". Why the hate folks?
